Somewhere in the exhilarating rush of battle, he had forgotten why he was fighting. The Noah preventing his escape from the room, he had changed, mutated in to something decidedly inhuman. And he refused to perish.

At least, not without one hell of a fight.

The magnitude of the tremors shaking the room was increasing at an alarming rate. Buildings were collapsing all around the two combatants, but neither made a run for the exit. And neither would until the other was dead.

The pain was intense; the feeling of hundreds of volts of electricity burning his body from the inside out was terrifying. But to know that he held his own life in his hands, that fact gave a little comfort. It dulled the pain, until it was no more than a dull throb.

When Mugen shattered, he felt a cold wave of panic seize him. His Innocence, destroyed?

When Mugen came back to him, his Innocence was revived. However, it was still cracked, weakened. The slightest amount of force in the right spot, and it would fall to pieces again.

The Noah still refused to give in and die. Even after the final strike, splitting him open, he still denied it, that he had lost to an Exorcist.

After the Noah's body dissolved into mist and his body burst into light, he knew it was over. He could escape and rejoin his friends again.

He grinned, and the world still shook.

"Take my life…to the sky…"
