Apologize

The moon was consumed by darkness, the stars not their usual brightness, knowing tonight was full of sadness and no hope. He hovered in the gloomy night above her... he could see into her open window. She was sitting on her bed crying for all she worth, hugging her pillow as if it were him. Even on this dark night, where nothing seemed possible, he knew deep in his heart that he loved her, this feeling exhausted him because it was so real, it flowed throughout him and not just in his heart. He never told her though. Vegeta wondered if she knew that he loved her. He had treated her harshly and they were always constantly bickering, but they had something that could not be explained. He needed her just as much as she need him. He was responsible for her crying.

I'm holding on your rope,
Got me ten feet off the ground
I'm hearin what you say but I just can't make a sound
You tell me that you need me
Then you go and cut me down, but wait
You tell me that you're sorry
Didn't think I'd turn around, and say...

He had hurt her in the worst way possible. He soaked in her beauty. Even if her eyes were red-rimmed and her cheeks tear stained, she was still beautiful and she would always be beautiful in his eyes, no matter what. He had never shared anything with anyone, but with her it was different. They had shared something amazing, something he would never forget. He wished he could go and comfort her, but he just could not. He was helpless in her suffering because it was him that was causing it.

It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late

If he had known what would have happened, he would have shown her in his own way how much she meant to him. It was too late now and he could not go back, he could not tell her what she needed to hear. He could not fix what he had done and he could not explain to her. He could not tell her why he had done what he had. He hoped she knew him well because deep in her heart she would know why and she would forgive him.

I'd take another chance, take a fall
Take a shot for you
And I need you like a heart needs a beat
But it's nothin new - yeah yeah
I loved you with a fire red-
Now it's turning blue, and you say...
"Sorry" like the angel heaven let me think was you
But I'm afraid...

He was proud that she was his. She was the first and only good thing in his life and she made him a better person, it was astounding how she had changed him. How one person had changed his dark and bitter heart, how someone had showed him what love is. He watched from the darkness as Bulma moved towards the open window, she peered out and then closed her eyes, inhaling deeply. He didn't move because he knew she could not see him. From the dark he watched as the night air swept and twirled her hair. He wanted to reach out to her and tell her everything, he wanted to make sure she knew. He held himself back, knowing his attempts would be futile.

It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late

It was too late to apologize because he was dead. He had left her. She would suffer alone and it was all his doing. He had no way of telling her what she really needed to hear. He had left her when she had needed him the most and he would never forgive himself. He wanted to touch her skin, he wanted to feel her again, but he knew he could not. He had tried before. He watched as a tear rolled down her smooth cheek. He would always watch over her, this he vowed. He would do anything to make her pain go away.

"I love you Bulma." His voice was swept away in the night breeze and he let the night breeze take him away too. Behind him, a wide eyed woman stared hopefully into the dark night.
