"Yeah. We've been a little shorthanded on that crew since—"

The door to Leon's right flung open and a short, boisterous brunet bounced out onto the back porch.

"Hey, there you two are!"

"Oh, hey, Sora," Zack waved.

"Sora," Leon nodded, folding his arms over his chest. "Dinner almost ready?"

"Yeah! Aerith said to come in and wash up. Okay? Okay. Message delivered!" he chirped before ducking back inside. The door slammed shut behind him.

After a brief moment of silence, Zack grinned. "Close one."

"Yeah. Good thing he's so noisy. We never would have heard Riku coming."

"Heh, you're right, there." The ex-SOLDIER stepped closer, pinning Leon against the outer wall of the house with a look and one hand on his chest. "Now, where were we?"

Leon's eyelids lowered slightly as his gaze fixed on the other man's mouth. He wrapped his fingers in the collar of Zack's sweater and gave a little tug. "Right about..."

"Here..." Zack murmured, violet eyes meeting stormy blue for a moment before their lips touched and the rest of the world disappeared.
