It's a Difficult Responsibility
"My followers, once again we will strike out against the inferior human oppressors," Magneto strode in front of the assembled Acolytes. "It's time we show the superiority of mutant kind! It's time to continue the great crusade to achieve mutant domination! It's time to provide a beacon for all mutants to rally and prepare for the inevitable war with humanity!"
"It's time for us to take a nap," Remy quipped as Magneto carried on.
"I still do not understand why we need to listen to all this," Piotr said.
"Yeah, all he does is talk, talk, talk and goes on and on and on," Pyro complained.
"Do you think being a man of destiny is easy?" Magneto demanded turning towards them. "You think planning for the future existence of mutants is easy? Well it's not! It's difficult! It's demanding! It's…a difficult responsibility! When you're the great Master of Magnetism, me! Have it known throughout the land from sea to sea! There will exist mutant supremacy!"
"Oh no," Sabertooth moaned and turned slightly pale. "Not the singing again!"
"I think Mags has had one aspirin too many," Remy blinked.
"Hey, ya gotta admit he's pretty good," Pyro bopped his head to the beat.
Magneto ignored them and continued to sing. "Mutant prison camps will be shut down. All humans run of town. The oppression of mutants will end! Our right to rule we defend!
"Since when?" Pyro asked.
"News to me," Remy shrugged.
"No more will mutants live in fear! Mutant kind's suffering will stop!" Magneto sang. "I'll work and fight and when I am done, mutants will be on top!"
"Hey, how about giving us a little credit," Remy asked. "We do a lot of work too."
"It's a difficult responsibility!" Magneto turned to the Acolytes. "That you accept from the Master of Magnetism, me! Have it known throughout the land from sea to sea! There will exist mutant supremacy!"
"You just had to say that didn't you," Sabertooth glared at Remy.
"Thanks a lot," Pyro snapped.
"We will start mutant liberation," Magneto sang. "Lead them to salvation!
If they refuse, coerce them! The weak, just rebuff 'em!"
"That does not seem nice," Piotr frowned.
"Since when has Mags done anything even remotely nice?" Remy quipped.
"Those who are strong and prove their worth, are allowed to follow my path," Magneto continued.
"This is getting boring," Pyro groaned as he set fire to a nearby chair.
"You said it," Remy agreed right before a few dozen metal pikes broke from the walls and surrounded the Acolytes.
"If you idiots don't shape up, you will feel my wrath!" Magneto roared.
"Right," Remy gulped. "And a one, and a two…"
"It's a difficult responsibility!" the Acolytes sang. "That he extracts from his crack team of Acolytes, we! Be it known throughout the land from sea to sea! There will exist mutant supremacy!"
"Yes!" Magneto raised his arms aloft. "The age of mutants will begin! We will soon become masters of this planet! No matter the cost our march toward world domination will go on!"
"And on and on and on," Sabertooth grumbled.
"Man," Remy whispered as Magneto continued to rant. "I bet no one else has to go through stuff like this."
Halfway around the world, behind secret doors in a secret cave…
"It's a difficult responsibility!" Apocalypse mentally sang to his lone follower. "When you're the first member of mutant kind, me! Have it known throughout the land from sea to sea! There'll be no more members of humanity!"
"Not again," Mesmero groaned as he stood on the other side of the doors and banged his head against them. "I hate it when he gets like this! Why do I have to put up with it? Why? Why? Why?"
