It was a dark rainy night in early April. Dark, rainy, and unusually cold. Allison Cameron arrives in her apartment, tired and cranky from a long, harsh day at work. For all the work she has to do in the ER, it's amazing at how unfulfilled she feels. She sighs and yawns, hanging up her coat on a hook, and tossing bag on the couch absentmindedly. Her mind reflects on why she's in such a cranky mood. Chase and her had gotten in an argument. Again.

"Allie, Why? Why won't you take me back?"

"It's... Chase… I-I can't."

"Why?"

"I'm not sure. Please don't do this to me…"

Chase lowers his voice, his eyes cold and demanding. "Is it because of House?"

Cameron's usually warm eyes turn cool. "N-No." How dare he?

"Forget about him! He'll only hurt you! I'll take care of you" He says, pulling her into a tight, forced hug.

"I don't need taken care of" She snapped, pulling away and steping back.

"You'll never get him, Allison. I guess you can't realize that. The only time he'll ever love you is in your dreams..."

That had stung.

Sighing, Cameron showered and pulled on an over-sized t-shirt. Then, she collapsed on her bed and dozed off. The sound of a door opening awoke her from her doze. She sat up, alarmed.

"W-who is it?" She demands, pulling her sheet around her body

"Shhh, Cam, relax."

A pair of arms wrapped around her, pulling her close to the man next to her. She rolled over, smiling at the face of her lover. He kisses her lightly on the lips, running his hands over her arms, leaving goosebumps in their wake.

"House…"

She didn't have to dream.
