Chapter 124

Thankfully, life returned to normal for the next few weeks. He had classes, his O.W.L. study groups, and even a couple occlumency tests.

Dumbledore had given him one because Snape had been overseeing a detention. Snape had given him the other. If the gleam in the mans eyes was any indication, then he had done well.

He had also received another lesson from Minister Shacklebolt on evasion and Moody had taught him a great deal about being stealthy, much to Snape's annoyance.

Dumbledore was still teaching him elemental magic, though now they were working with air and ways to manipulate it.

He had forgone the monthly visit to Hogsmeade, having seen the village enough recently to last a lifetime.

On the last Friday in April, Harry invited Susan down to his rooms in Snape's quarters to study. They had another fight recently about how she never gets to see him or spend any time with him anymore. He thought they saw each other everyday and that they were fine but when Hermione and Ron both told him to spend the evening with her, he realized he had missed something important – again.

Susan had just walked into his bedroom when Snape called out, "Leave the door open."

He fought the urge to roll his eyes. "I know the rules."

For the first hour and a half, they had worked solely on the essay Lupin gave everyone as homework for the weekend. Once it was finished, he watched as Susan began examining everything closer than she had when she had first walked into the room.

"Why don't you have any pictures of your mom displayed?"

Harry shrugged. "Don't want Snape to feel uncomfortable when he has to come in here."

"This is your room, Harry. You should decorate it how you like, not how you think he will like it."

He just shrugged again.

Susan then plopped down on his bed. "You always ask about me when we spend time by ourselves. It's your turn to talk about you."

Harry grimaced. He didn't like talking about himself and he hated revealing anything about his time at the Dursley's.

"What was your favorite book growing up?" she asked suddenly.

Harry thought for a minute. "I … never really had one." Truthfully, other than his primary school books, he had never been allowed to read any extra stories. His aunt and uncle thought he might get 'dangerous ideas' from them. That was one of the reasons he liked to read now.

"Really?"

He nodded.

"Well, what about now?"

He chuckled, knowing the response that she was already going to give. "The only books I've read are school books … or books like school books."

"What? You've never read about Snow White and the Nine House Elves or Sleeping Bella or The Adventures of Martin the Muggle or even King Arthur and the Square Table?"

Harry burst out laughing at her indignation. Once he could breathe properly, he merely shook his head. "I don't even have the time to read what's required of me. When would I find the time to read something for fun?"

"Didn't you read anything this past summer when you stayed with your Godfather?"

"Nothing like that," he said.

"Hmm. All right. Favorite music group?"

"I've heard a few songs by The Numbered Pigeons on the wireless radio that I like."

"Did you ever see any muggle movies growing up?" she asked curiously.

"Nope."

"What did you do for fun then?"

"I like to cook," he admitted sheepishly. Well, he liked to cook as long as the Dursley's weren't breathing down his back about making sure everything was perfect and he was allowed to eat it.

"You can cook?" she asked, surprise evident in her voice.

"Yep."

"Dear sweet Merlin. I need to expose you to so many things!"

Harry just shook his head at her.

Severus had eavesdropped from where he sat in the living room. The silencing ward made it impossible to hear what they were saying but he could see both of them.

He was truly surprised that they actually appeared to be studying.

After a while, he headed to his potions lab. He had a few things to take care of before he retired for the night.

Perhaps two and a half hours had passed when he heard a knock at his door. He glanced at the clock and saw that it was nearly Ms. Bones curfew. Perhaps she had left already but had forgotten something?

However, when he opened the door and saw Minerva and Pomona standing there, he felt shock flow through his body.

There was only one reason they would both be at his door.

Rage was the next emotion.

He wanted to immediately run into his son's room but knew his fellow Head of Houses had a job as well, although it took every ounce of his willpower to remind himself of that.

He merely pointed to Harry's bedroom and followed behind them.

What he saw shocked him, despite the fact he knew he was going to see something similar.

Ms. Bones was laying next to Harry, her body partially covering his and Harry had his hands underneath her shirt. They were both kissing so deeply that Minerva had to clear her throat twice to garner their attention.

He heard them both utter a moan of mortification.

"Professor M … McGonagall … Professor Sprout!" Harry exclaimed.

"Ms. Bones, come with me," Pomona said.

Severus watched her straighten her clothes briefly before grabbing her book bag. Her face had turned red then white and back to red in rapid succession.

Harry, he saw, had also turned completely red.

"I'll leave you to it, Minerva," he managed to force out.

He then sat down in a chair and waited for their conversation to be finished.

He could easily imagine how it would go, having been alerted to many of his Slytherins being caught in compromising positions before.

He had truly thought that Harry was too haunted and too hunted though to be completely caught up in his hormones like that.

Clearly he had been mistaken.

During his wait, he found himself getting angry again. Surely this wasn't why Harry had wanted to move down here?

A half hour had passed when Minerva exited the room. He raised his brow at her.

"You didn't hear me?" she asked curiously.

"He cast a silencing ward over his room and won't remove it."

He saw her smirk. "I'll let you talk to him And while I know you are his father, Albus and Remus are his legal guardians, so I do need to go inform them of this."

He nodded and watched her use the floo. He then headed to Harry's bedroom.

The boy was sitting on his bed with his knees pulled up into his chest.

"Are you disappointed in me, too?" asked Harry quietly.

That lone question had drained him of any rage he had previously felt. Severus looked into Harry's eyes and silently cursed the Dursley's tenfold.

"Not in you, but I am in your actions."

"But we weren't doing anything!"

Severus sat down in the chair at the desk. "Harry, I saw the two of you when I came in the room. You were definitely doing something."

"Just kissing."

"You had your hands up her shirt and she was practically straddling you."

"But … but ..." He then sighed. "We weren't going to do anything."

"How do you know?"

"How do I know what?"

"That you weren't going to do anything."

"Oh. Uh, I just know," he protested weakly.

Severus groaned. "Harry, at your age, your hormones can easily get away from you."

"But we've slept together before and no one yelled at us then!"

Severus felt his heart stop. He briefly closed his eyes and ran his hand over his face. He was beginning to hate this patient side that he had evidently developed. He simply wanted to throttle the boy. "You and Ms. Bones have already had sex?" he asked slowly. Dear Sweet Merlin, he still needed to teach Harry about the contraception spell.

"What? No!"

He let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. "You just said you slept together."

Harry flushed. "We were talking one evening and we fell asleep on a sofa together."

Severus frowned. The wards on the castle were designed to alert a students Head of House if anything intimate happened. There were, of course, ways to get around it, but not very many.

"We weren't touching or anything," Harry added softly.

He felt so far out of his depth right now. He knew how to talk to his Slytherins with no problem. He had no idea how to explain this to a Gryffindor.

"What would you have done had Ms. Bones wanted to go further than kissing?"

"I don't think she would."

"What if you did get caught up in the moment and she suddenly said 'no' or 'stop'?"

He saw Harry frown at him, confusion in his eyes. "I'd stop."

From the corner of his eye, he saw Lupin floo into the sitting room.

"Do you remember last year when I talked to you about sex?"

Harry simply nodded, though Severus did see the boys cheeks darken again.

"Do you remember when I told you that if you ever decided to go further than a kiss to come to me? That if you ever had any questions, to come to me?"

His son nodded again.

"Then why didn't you?"

"Because I didn't plan on going any further than a kiss."

Severus bit back a sigh. Maybe Lupin would be able to talk to Harry about this. "Just so you know, no friends the entire weekend. You'll eat your meals in your room You will still have the lessons with Albus tomorrow and Sunday, otherwise you will study."

"Yes, sir."

He stood up to leave. "Go take a shower and change for bed. I'll be back in afterward."

Once in the sitting room, he saw Lupin and Albus both sitting by the fire.

"Is he in one piece?" asked Albus curiously.

"No," he said sarcastically. "I cut him up and am going to use him in one of my potions."

"You know what I meant," chided Albus.

"He's going to take a shower. Maybe you two will be able to talk to him better than I can. I'm not sure how to go about explaining everything to a Gryffindor so he would understand my point. My first instinct was to yell at him. So was my second, but I refrained from doing so. Barely."

He saw Albus and Remus roll their eyes at each other, which annoyed him even further.

"We'll each talk to him. Are you going to allow him to train this weekend?"

"Yes. That's for his continued survival – not fun."

Twenty minutes later, he watched as Lupin and Albus entered the boys bedroom. Hopefully they would get through to him.

Harry was properly horrified, mortified, and embarrassed. By the time everyone had left him alone for the night, he doubted he'd be able to look at Susan again without wanting to drown himself in the lake.

He had told them all the truth. He honestly didn't plan on anything happening. One second he was talking to her about Quidditch, the next she pounced on him.

She had been the one to place his hands under her shirt.

He had been horrified at first but she told him it was okay and he realized that she felt soft … and warm. He had then felt her hand go over his stomach. Strange sensations had occurred then.

He had never fully realized that she had halfway straddled him until after the fact. In his mind, about three seconds had passed when he had heard McGonagall clear her throat but he reasoned that it was likely several minutes.

He had also told Snape the truth in that nothing would have happened.

Harry rolled over in his bed.

The disappointment in everyone's eyes had been tough to take. He'd rather Voldemort torture him than to ever see that again.

As he pulled his blanket more securely around himself, he realized that on Monday he was going to have to corner Susan and talk to her.

Something like what happened tonight could not happen again.

Sunday evening, Harry entered Snape's quarters and immediately headed to his bedroom. While he would never admit it, he didn't mind the solitude that much. He had actually managed to get quite a bit of studying done for his O.W.L.'s. He had also finished the elemental book dealing with air that Dumbledore had told him to read.

"How was your lesson with Albus tonight?"

Harry looked over to see Snape standing in the doorway to the potions lab.

"Was good. He taught me how to always sense people even when I couldn't see them."

"I thought you could already do that. Albus said that it was in one of those books you read that dealt with power. Plus, you sensed me once this past summer, despite the fact I was in another room."

"Sometimes I can just tell someone's around me. I once sensed Malfoy behind me while my back was turned to him. But, I have to … kind of push my magic out. I'm not used to doing that all the time, which is what we worked on tonight."

"And are you able to do it?"

"I still need to work on it, but yeah. It feels strange to me having to make sure that my magic is always occupied doing something."

Snape eyed him curiously. "You know, if you're not used to keeping your magic active like that, that may be the reason you can't keep a personal shield up."

Harry nodded. "Dumbledore thought about that too."

"Very well, go on to your room."

"Yes, sir."

Harry quickly took a shower then settled in to read a book that the Headmaster himself had written. It dealt with what people who held a lot of power could do and since Dumbledore had actually written it himself, he trusted it with more accurate information.

Around midnight, a light knock at the door caused him to look up.

"Going to bed?"

"In a couple minutes. I wanted to finish this chapter first."

"I need to talk to you about something."

"Is everyone okay?" he immediately asked. "Did Voldemort attack someone again?"

He watched as Snape sat down in the chair at his desk. "Everyone is fine. Since my attack, the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord seem to be lying low."

"He's probably working on getting Bellatrix out of where ever the Ministry placed her."

"I didn't come in here to talk with you about that. I came in here to teach you the contraception spell."

"What?!" He felt his face heat up.

"I wasn't going to because you are much too young to be having sex but it would be irresponsible of me not to at least teach this to you."

"I honestly have no desire to have s-sex with anyone, especially while I'm still at school!"

"Then consider it a lesson for your future needs."

Harry buried his head in his hands but suffered through twenty minutes of being taught the spell.

Afterwards, Snape said, "Remember, if you ever want to go further than a kiss, come talk to me."

He watched as Snape left the room. 'Dear Sweet Merlin,' he thought in horror. After that … demonstration, he was ready to swear off sex for the rest of his life – and he hadn't even had it yet!

The next morning, Ron and Hermione kept pestering him about what he had done to get grounded for the weekend, but he refused to answer them.

A minute later, Susan joined him. He glanced at her and immediately flushed.

"Oh Harry, you didn't?" asked Hermione quietly. "When we suggested you spend Friday night with Susan, that's not what we meant," she added in an even lower voice.

"He didn't what?" questioned Ron as a fork full of food hovered in front of his mouth.

He and Susan both shook their heads in denial.

"What were you thinking?" Hermione asked, exasperated.

"What are you talking about?" demanded Ron, dropping his fork in his plate in irritation that something was being kept from him.

"Uh, I need to go."

"I'll go with you," Susan said, as she, too, got up from the table.

They headed to an empty classroom.

"How much trouble did you get into?" she asked as they both sat down in a couple of chairs.

"A lecture from Snape, Dumbledore, Lupin and I got grounded this past weekend. You?"

"My aunt paid me a visit Friday night. I got lectured for nearly an hour. I told her that it was my fault. That earned me another lecture about how a lady is supposed to behave. She … she didn't come to see you did she?"

"No. I probably would have died if she had."

"She said she was going to talk to you and that's when I told her it was my fault."

"It wasn't completely your fault Susan. I could have said no."

"But you did, Harry. I ignored it."

Harry frowned. "I don't remember saying no."

Susan flushed. "When I put your hand under my shirt, you protested. I thought that maybe you didn't like what you were feeling but later I realized it was because of how shy you are."

He searched his memory. He honestly couldn't remember protesting.

"Are we okay?" asked Susan tentatively.

Harry shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Yeah, but … uh … no more of that stuff. I never wanna be lectured by all three of them again."

Susan snickered. "I'm sorry. I just can't imagine Professor Dumbledore talking to you about sex."

He grimaced, remembering the many candy references the elder man had made. "Yeah, well, before Friday night, neither could I. I have to go. I have Binns first."

As he stood, Susan grabbed his arm. "Uh, Harry, why did Professor Dumbledore and Professor Lupin talk to you? Snape's your father."

"They have legal custody over me."

"Even though it's known who your father is?"

He nodded.

"Don't you think that's weird?"

"My whole life is weird," he said as he rolled his eyes. "I'll see you at lunch."

With a wave toward her, he set off in the direction of the History of Magic classroom.

A/N: Wow. It's been over a year since I've updated. Oops. Real life had taken control but I've never stopped writing. After my grandfather's death, depression took a hold of me. As I was recovering from that, more drama hit the family. (And I despise family drama, blah.)

However, I've recently started a nursing job and also moved into my own apartment. My job is 5 days a week so that just leaves the weekend's to really work on this story. But I am still working on it. No abandonment here!

I wanna thank all the reviewers and the followers/favoriters (if that isn't a word, it is now haha) for sticking with me. I'm unsure when the next update will be but it will be before next year! Something tells me if it isn't, I'd be hunted, lynched, and tar and feathered.

Oh, and as for Snape's patient side ... it won't last. ;-)

*sets out lots and lots and lots of treats for everyone* :-)
