The Man in Seto's Glass

Disclaimer: I don't own it.

AN: Inspired by a 'Deep-Thought Wednesday' in my U.S. History class I don't own the poem 'The Man in the Glass' either It's just an FYI in case anyone was interested.

How many people wished they could be him?

All of his fame, his success, his looks, his fans; who wouldn't wish to be him?

How many people would give anything to live the life of Seto Kaiba for just one day?

Little do those people know that Seto would give it all up in an instant, just for the ability to look his reflection in the eye.

Imagine! He, Seto Kaiba, who had stared down the most ruthless business men in the world, whose actions spurred one of the most powerful men alive to leap from his own skyscraper, could not face the disappointed blue eyes in his mirror.

Those impossibly dark blue eyes that had pleaded with him not to start down that wicked, wicked path, those eyes that willed him to endure until the man in the glass could aid him.

Seto Kaiba could not face his past, not when it looked at him with betrayal and pity and sadness… and love.

Seto Kaiba could not meet the gaze of the ghost in his mirror, not while Seth wept for his light's shattered soul.

The Man in the Glass

When you get what you want, in your struggle for

self, and the world makes you king for a day, just go

to a mirror and look at yourself and see what that

man has to say.

Although there are others in life's pathway

whose judgment upon you must pass, the fellow

whose verdict counts most in your life is the man

staring back from the glass.

You may win all the medals and "snow" all the rest

and think you're a wonderful guy; but the man in the

glass says you're only a fraud, if you can't look him

straight in the eye.

He's the one to please, after all's said and done,

for he's with you clear up to the end. And you've

passed a most dangerous, difficult test if the man in

the glass is your friend.

You may fool the whole world down the pathways of

years and get pats on the back as you pass; but your

final reward will be heartaches and tears, if you've

cheated the man in the glass.
