This is Quil and Claire's first Easter together. I thought this was a good way to show how things progressed throughout time. This is a one shot but let me know what you think. Happy Easter!
Hate to advertise but if you liked this story check out my other one. Its called Transitions. (Its another Quil and Claire story.)
EasterOur little baby girl turned one last week. Just like me, Sam and Emily's son, Tyler, imprinted on her. He was beyond infatuated by her. Smitten if you will. A bunch of "baby wolf cubs" as my Claire likes to call them were tottering around First Beach on the prowl for Easter eggs. First Beach.
"Claire." Grabbing her hand I towed her over to the branch, a five-minute walk from where the hunt was going on. This was where I told her who I really was. Sitting, I pulled her down alongside me. Shamus, Jared and Kim's son ran by with his basket in tow. A large chocolate wolf protruded from it. Laughing, I remembered Emily, Claire and Kim making them last night using molds Sam and I went to go pick up.
"Shay," using his nickname Claire directed him back to where the hunt was going on. He scampered off. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and buried my head into her hair.
"So. . ." she whispered trying to ignore the way I was playing with her fingers on her other hand.
"How are the two rascals?" I patted her stomach. We were expecting twins; we didn't want to know the genders though. She smiled at me and I couldn't help but get lost in those eyes. Every time. Every freaking time. She always does that to me. It's like imprinting all over again.
"I remember the first time I rode on your back while you were a werewolf." Her voice was barely audible over the gentle laps of the waves.
Laughing, "Yea, you fell of my back."
She shrugged out from underneath my arms.
"Aw, Claire I was only kidding."
Chuckling darkly she returned to our embrace. "I know."
"I remember how first kiss."
Blushing, "Yes, I do too. I was so nervous."
"Don't think I wasn't Claire."
She laughed and turned to face me. "You were nervous?" She asked incredously.
"Yes, of course."
"I don't believe it."
"Sometimes I'm still nervous when I kiss you."
She just snorted at me.
"What should we name the twins?" She asked suddenly.
"Well. . . if it was two girls. Holbrook (A/N sorry I know its my name. but I love it.) and Lynn."
"I agree. For boys. . . we should name them Seamus and Patrick."
I must admit I was touched that she used my grandpas' name; she knew how close we were.
"For one girl and one boy we should name them. . . Holbrook and Patrick."
She nodded, contemplating.
"You realize that we going to have totally different names tomorrow?"
Laughing, I nodded.
"We have come so far together."
"Yes," she paused. "I guess we have."
"This is our first Easter together as a married couple."
I knew she was thinking about this. Today like all Easters was so busy we hadn't a chance to acknowledge this was our first Easter. She, like me was probably recalling all the days events. It was beyond crazy today.
"I know; Happy Easter!"
Smiling I replied, "Happy Easter!"
Turning into a more serious mode, I kissed her in the center of her forehead.
"I love you. So much." I whispered softly. My lips trailed up and down her neck.
"I love you too."
I pulled away from her neck and looked into her eyes. Slowly I leaned into her, inhaling her sweet cinnamon scent that swirled about us lazily. I kissed her softly and savored the union of our heartbeats pounding together creating a song of its own. I tasted her vanilla scented breath. Her soft lips were so cold against my heated ones. She pulled away and pressed her forehead to mine.
"Were you nervous that time?"
"Yes." I whispered as I pressed my lips to hers once more.
