Poor Yamazaki

Disclaimer: I do not own Gintama. (I wish I did.)

Summary: Poor Yamazaki. He didn't mean to walk in on them… HijikataxOkita

It had been a long, hard day for our Gintama spy, Yamazaki Sagaru. And now it was his favorite time of the night – bed time. It was a time where he could plunge into a world of dreams where was he was noticed and loved.

So he got through his normal routine; brushed his teeth, combed his hair, and tucked himself into bed. But something didn't feel the same…OH NO! Yamazaki sat up in bed. Where was his badminton racquet? He couldn't sleep without it!

"I must have left it in the dining room…" he said to himself. So although he was scared of ghosts, he bravely got up and headed off to find his beloved racquet. When he reached the dining room, he quietly slid open the door- and saw a horrifying sight. Two people were in the room, one shorter that the other. There was a small candle on the table besides them, projecting their shadows on to the wall. They were VERY, VERY close together. One was propped up on a table and another was pressing against him. They were…kissing. Yamazaki squinted his eyes at their silhouettes…HOLY SHIT! He gasped in surprise. The two people pulled apart. He quickly ducked behind a chair.

"Did you hear something?" Sougo asked.

"Nah. Probably the wind." Hijikata replied.

"…But-"

"Talk later." Hijikata said, and leaned in…

Behind the chair, Yamazaki was cowering in fright. Hijikata and Okita?! He knew there was something fishy going on then they started to frequently disappear together…But more importantly, if he was found...

He peeked over the chair to see that they were busy, and started to plan his escape. He had 3 choices. ONE; stay there and wait. TWO; make a run for it. THREE; pretend to be sleep walking.

He decided that plan one was the safest, and crouched down to wait.

Finally, A WHOLE HOUR LATER, they left. Yamazaki breathed out in relief. He tried to stand up…but his legs were cramped. And he was tired. And he found his badminton racquet.

"Maybe…I'll just…" he fell asleep.

THE NEXT MORNING AT BREAKFAST…

Okita Sougo walked in to the dining room. "Morning." He yawned. "What's all the commotion?" A group of people were surrounding a chair, holding in laughter.

"Look!" Kondo whispered.

Sougo peered over the chair to see Yamazaki sleeping sounding clutching his racquet.

"It seems like he slept here the whole night!" Kondo giggled. "What a weird kid."

Sougo froze. "The WHOLE night?" he asked.

Kondo nodded. Then, Hijikata came in, and demanded breakfast. Everyone shushed him.

"Wha?" Hijikata scratched his face confused.

"Good morning Hijikata san." Sougo said calmly. "It seems that Yamazaki spent the WHOLE night here."

Hijikata turned pale. "The WHOLE night?"

"So it seems."

"Oh look!" someone announced. "He's waking up!"

Yamazaki's eyes fluttered open. "Where… am…I? He murmured. Everyone in the room apart from himself, Hijikata and Sougo bursted into peals of laughter.

"Huh? What?" Yamazaki groaned. "My back hurts…"

"Good morning" Hijikata said. There was a dark aura surrounding him.

"How did you sleep?" Sougo asked. There was an even darker than usual aura surrounding him.

Yamazaki gulped. This was going to be a long, painful day.
