Vincent Valentine looked down at the disc in his hand. He had received it from Tifa about a week ago and was finally going to see what it contained. Putting the disc in his computer he tapped his fingers on the desk while he waited for it to load. Once it was ready Vincent saw it was a movie but his eyes widened in shock as he recognized the person in front of the camera. It was Yuffie, although a lot younger. Materia must have been involved and the gunslinger watched as the toddler was babysat by Tifa and Reno and smirked when she said he was pretty. In fact he was so entranced by the video that he didn't hear the footsteps approaching from behind him until it was too late.
A pair of pale arms encircled Vincent's neck and then he heard that loud voice he knew so well.
"Hey Vinnie, whatcha watching?" Yuffie asked, eyes staring at the computer screen. Vincent felt her body stiffen as she recognized the events portrayed on the monitor. The arms around his neck instantly retracted and as Vincent looked at the young ninja he saw her whole body turn crimson from embarrassment. "It's not what it looks like…" She managed to say. Vincent gave her a small smile.
"So I'm pretty eh?" At that Yuffie seemed to vanish. And no log or cloud of smoke appeared either. The kunoichi had simply ran. Vincent sighed and went up to the roof. He found Yuffie there, arms around her knees and sitting, eyes staring out into the night. She turned her head when she heard his footsteps and looked away soon after.
"I'm sorry Vincent I know you have this tall, dark, and handsome part about you. It's just…well I think you really are attractive." Yuffie said.
"It's alright Yuffie- but the ninja continued talking.
"And I don't care if you don't like it anyway, it's my opinion and I should be able to say it whenever I want to."
"Yuffie- but again Vincent was cut off.
"Don't you give me the whole age excuse also, got that? You're physically twenty seven and I'm almost twenty two so when you think about it that way- but this time it was Yuffie's turn to be silenced when Vincent's lips met hers in a chaste kiss. His mouth was surprisingly warm and she savored this moment. Once he broke apart, he started speaking.
"I had to make you stop talking somehow." But Yuffie could see that he had enjoyed the kiss as well. "As I was going to say, Yuffie I've had a life no one should ever have to live. People look at me and they know I'm not human, they can sense what I can become. But you…you don't care about that, it is truly amazing." As Vincent finished his speech, Yuffie leaned in and kissed him deep on the lips. She felt his arms wrap around her middle and move her closer to his chest. Breaking apart once more, she looked at the ground, face red.
"Sorry…" But Vincent reached out his hand and lifted her chin up. His amber eyes seemed to glow and he smiled the first real smile Yuffie had ever seen on his face.
"There's nothing to apologize for." And the gunslinger kissed her again while the clouds drifted over the moon.
