Things to know:

This is another of my few attempts at writing something non-humorous. Huzzah.

This takes place before the 2007 movie (If you couldn't already tell by the fact that Bumblebee doesn't have a voice).

Transformers don't belong to me.

Jazz heard the automatic door slide open and looked up. He looked away again when he saw that it was Bumblebee. "Hey, BeeBee. Need something?" He looked back at him to decipher his answer. Bumblebee shook his head, no. "Then what do you want?"

He watched, puzzled, as Bumblebee sat at the foot of his berth and stared back at him. He cocked his head slightly and blinked. "Hmm?" Bumblebee smiled and patted Jazz's knee joint, as if trying to tell him something. "Oh… You just want to talk?" Bumblebee nodded in response.

Jazz sighed. "What is there even to talk about? I mean, you can't even talk at all, and nothing's happened in the past several days. We've been on this Primus-forsaken ship drifting through space for Primus knows how long. What the fuck could we talk about?!"

Bumblebee looked startled at Jazz's sudden outburst and stared at his lap, as if he were about to cry. Jazz regretted snapping at him like that. He only even wanted to talk because he could sense Jazz's depression and loneliness and wanted to keep him company with hopes of making him feel better.

"Bee, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lose my temper like that, especially not on you. It's not your fault. I've just been stressed out lately." Bumblebee looked up at Jazz. "I just miss home, and all my friends."

Bumblebee nodded in understanding. His gaze fixated on Jazz's injured hand. He then looked back up at Jazz. "I know I should see Ratchet about it," he said, knowing what his companion was trying to say. "I'll see him later, I promise." Bumblebee's head cocked. "I got angry and punched a wall," Jazz answered his non-verbal question. "I never try to hurt myself when I get angry, it just kind of happens." Again, Bumblebee nodded.

They sat in silence for an undefined amount of time before Jazz decided to say something. "Bumblebee, you're my best friend. Even though all you can do is listen, I feel as though that's all you would have done even if you could speak. Thanks." Bumblebee smiled before crawling over to Jazz's side so he could give him a hug. "I love you too, little brother," Jazz smiled.
