More than anything, it's the storyline and background of Mass Effect that draws me to it and the Reapers are an integral part of that. And with Ascension set to be released in the near future, came up with something to quench my yearnings for a short while.

Reapers

They wait in the darkness,

In the void of Dark Space.

Silent sentinels,

As still as eternity.

Gazing through the baleful light,

They plan to return,

Their scything claws,

Ripping through weak flesh,

Purging the galaxy of organic life.

Dark wraiths of terror,

Hanging in the black, unseen,

As if they are not there.

...

Time flows on.

The ripples of infinitude flow by.

Suddenly, cries of awakening,

Break away,

From metallic throats.

...

As one they receive the signal.

As one they rise,

And head towards the light.
