The Bird and The Golf Cart

Jason's POV

I was in the golf cart that Shane's uncle Brown was letting me borrow. I was trying not to go too fast, because knowing me I might hurt myself, as I drove around Camp Rock. It was my favorite place in the whole world.

It was sunny. A small breeze was blowing at the trees and the lake was sparkling. It was a good day.

Then, I spotted Ella. I really like her, but I don't think she has a clue. I think she'd be a good girlfriend for me. Nate's always telling me to get life, and while I'm at it, a girlfriend.

"Hey Jason!" She waved at me. She has the cutest smile.

"Want a ride?" I asked trying my best not to fall out of the still slowly moving golf cart.

"Of course!" She replied while hopping in and sitting next to me. I liked the fact that we were so close. It left this warm feeling in my stomach that made me smile.

"Where to?" I asked her, trying my best to be smooth. She giggled and murmured something I couldn't hear. Then she perked up and replied, "Anywhere you take me."

I tried to hide my blush, but when you're driving a golf cart, it's important to keep your eyes on the pathway in front of you.

After a while I glanced over to see her nervously biting her bottom lip. I had to say something. Anything. Come on, Jason! Remember what Shane told you. Small talk is key.

"Do you like pineapples?" I asked with my coolest tone. I looked over to see she giggle and nod her head yes. I smiled at her.

"I like pineapples. They have those pointy things on the outsides, and they taste good." I continued.

"Yeah, and if you throw them at Peggy, she screams really loud!" Ella exclaimed through a fit of giggles.

"Really?" I asked in awe.

"Yeah! You should try it sometime!" She replied with a big smile.

"I so will!" I replied with an equally big big smile. I turned to look at her and for a minite I got lost in her eyes.

BUMP!

I instantly took my foot off the gas pedal went I hit something. I jumped out of the driver's seat and ran in front of the golf cart. I was praying I didn't kill anything. It'd break my heart.

As Ella came to my side I dropped down to my knees, my mouth wide open in shock.

I hit a bird. There, right in front of me, lay a bird.

"Aw, it'll be okay Jason." Ella tried to comfort me by placing a hand on my shoulder. I was almost in tears. I killed a bird! An innocent little bird. How could it be okay? I'm a murderer! I felt so ashamed of myself.

"Do you know CPR?" She asked me. I did! I knew CPR! I could save him!

Just as I was leaning forward to help save the bird's life, he jumped up and began hopping around the ground.

I stood up and jumped in a victory dance. "He's alive!"

"Yay!" Ella yelled while holding my hands as we jumped together. We stopped to watch the bird fly swiftly away into the sky. He was so graceful. It was beautiful to watch.

When I looked back at Ella, our hands were still together. I smiled at her, and she smiled back.

"Ella?" I asked with a slightly nervous tone.

"Yes?" She asked with a big grin.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked with all the courage I had.

"Yes!" She shreiked while jumping up and hugging me. I had the biggest and goofiest grin ever!

Today really is a good day.
