Here's a oneshot. I do not own Harvest Moon. GrayxClairexUsed-to-be-Kai, KaixPopuri

"It was a moment of weakness. . ." Kai tells you, his bandanna in his hands and he's staring.

You stare at him, trying to be the epitome of solid. You're not going to break. Not going to break. You shatter like glass.

"You couldn't resist."

He stares at you and you realize that your probably not the first girl he's done this with. Popuri's on the bed behind him, of all places, your bed. She's clutching the sheet to her exposed body and she's a nasty shade of gray.

"You." You whisper to her and she flinches expecting an attack. "You were my best friend. You said you were in love with Cliff.
Why Kai?"

She shakes and then looks down at herself slowly and then looks back at you.

"I'm sorry." She whispers in the voice she used when she left that chicken outside and it was eaten. Rick had instantly forgiven her and she got off scot-free.

Anger flares within you so much that it burns and you scream, "That's not going to work on me! You're not a little girl, Popuri! Or at least not anymore! I want you out of my house!"

"But-but. . ."

"OUT!" You roar!

Kai's visibly shaking now. Obviously scared of your burning anger. You stare at your bed and you wonder why you didn't think something was up when he said this morning that he was going to come hang out at your house for a bit. Without you there. The door creaks open but you're so caught up in yourself you don't notice.

"Was it worth it? Was she worth it?" You hiss at him.

"Yes." He says in a monotone.

That's it! You start to run at him but someone swings an arm around your waist, pulling you to them. You squirm and fight as Kai leaves and then you realize you feel completely drained. You just hang there not even bothering to look at the person who's holding you.

"Are you okay?" It's Gray. His voice is rough and gentle. It's almost calming. Not really. You're so hollow that if the wind was blowing it would whistle inside of you.

"Grandpa heard the noise and he sent me." He says, still trying to gain some of your attention. You nod dully.

"What time is it?" You mutter. He look surprised with your question but answers promptly, "Nearly six o' clock."

You stare at this person, one of the few who you actually made friends with. 'You and Mary and Gray are quite the little trio' you've heard several times. Then Kai came and Gray was incredibly cold to you when announced you guys were an 'item'. He warned you. He said that you were going to get your heart broken.

You just couldn't believe it when it finally happened. You stare at Gray and now your eyes are brimming over. He sits you down on the floor and glares at the door.

You can swear to yourself you hear him mutter "That bastard!"

"I don't want to spend the night here." You say, your voice cracking.

"Why- wait a minute!" He hasn't seen the bed yet. He doesn't know what's happened. He stands up quickly. Then he lopes over to the bed and you look at him in silence as he stares at it. His expression is stormy.

"I'll be back." He says, trying to keep his voice level.

The next week you're sitting at the bar, at the Inn between Mary and Gray. The three of you are chatting away when the door slams and footsteps thud towards the stairs. It's Kai. He has two black eyes and his nose is in a splint. He gives Gray a glare but all the blacksmith apprentice does is narrow his eyes. Kai clatters up the stairs quickly. Gray gives you a crooked smile and you blush.

Then before you lose your courage, you reach under the counter top and find his hand. You squeeze once and hope.

He squeezes back.

Remember, when one door closes, another one opens.

Well, that was lame but that as good as it's going to get. Review please.
