A/N: Don't know where this came from D: Ficlet, implied confession (like giving chocolate on valentine's day).
--
Abe isn't the type of person who would respond to an unexpected confession without his eyebrows raised, a short grunt on the ready, and a rather unobvious expression of shock.
So when Mihashi has his hands outstretched, fingers tightly gripping a small box, tears ready to fall and body trembling due to the sheer awkwardness of it all, Abe certainly becomes very out of character.
First, he smiles. "Is it for me?"
Mihashi almost looks up for a second, shocked by the -- by the lack of roughness in his catcher's voice. But he shakes it off, believing it, and the smile, to be a figment of his imagination. "Y-Y-Y-yes," He says, and blinks. Takes a deep breath. Continues. "I-I made it for y-you."
Abe's face is coloured a beautiful shade of tomato red. He takes the box and says, "Thank you. I really appreciate this." Before Mihashi can respond though, he continues, "I've-I've brought something for you too."
Mihashi has no time to wonder about the blushing and the thank you and the stuttering, as a velvet box appears in Abe's hand, and he kneels on the ground, a serious expression on his face. He proceeds to open the box carefully, remove a diamond ring, hold it out, and almost scream, "Will you marry me?"
Mihashi, understandably, faints.
Behind the bushes, Shinooka is hyperventilating, Tajima has tears in his eyes, and Hanai almost loses his facade of coolness between the muffled snorts he gives. Momoe stares on, torn with the desire to laugh.
"Told you hypnotizing Abe to have him accept Mihashi's confession wasn't a good idea."
