I had to once again re-submit this fic, I simply cannot be satisfied with it. Just little things here and there that I keep finding are driving me nuts.

Hope this is the last time! Love Nik

Hair, black as pitch, swayed softly in the gentle wind. Night had fallen across the land, it's dark hands gripping her tightly, holding her in its grasp. Saya sat, silent, on the rooftop of her current home.

It had been four years since she awoke, and thirty-four years since she had killed Diva.

Thirty-four years....since she last saw Haji alive.

No-one could tell her if he was alive or not; although there were indications to such, nobody could say for sure......not David, not Julia, no-one.

Her heart ached for her chavalier, and she shivered from both cold and loss.

The wind whipped through her.

Another small shiver, and Saya's hand instinctively went to her swollen stomach. It was her only consolation-- the beings resting within her. And although they were not fathered by him, Saya knew....

If ever Haji did appear, alive, it would be he that the children called 'father'. She sighed. The cold wind helped to brace her against the inner pain.

Below, Saya's lover stood alert, keeping watch during her midnight reverie.

The blonde ex-chavalier looked to the sky.

He felt a change in the air.

His dearest Saya, his mother and his lover, had been without her true chevalier for far too long.

Haji was coming.

And soon, he would no longer be the one to comfort Saya. He would no longer be the one to show her love, to make her smile, or to hold her in the night.

Solomon closed the door behind him as he entered the house.

He was not Saya's chevalier, but he knew, despite everything Haji would take from him, that he could not leave Saya's side. He would remain in the background; in the morning mist as the soon-to-be family awoke from a beautiful night of sleep. He would watch his children grow, play, and express the love of a child to Haji, and not him.

He would stay with Saya always, and he would do so from a respectable distance.

His time was no more.

Solomon smiled.

Haji was approaching....

His lover would be happy once more.
