yo. Light Kyouya x Haruhi, hinted/referenced Tamaki x Haruhi. As per usual, this was written for and is dedicated to SylverEyes, as she adores this pairing. I simply hope I have done it justice.

Kyouya was never one to act on impulses, so Haruhi didn't really get too mad at him when he gave her a hidden, hasty, rough kiss; she figured something must have been troubling him or something.

"Oh," she muttered, a bit flustered. "So, that's how it is?"

Kyouya's expression remained hard and focused. "Yes," he replied. "I suppose that's how it is. Are you angry?" His question was slightly mocking; it was almost as if he wanted her to be absolutely furious with him. He wanted to get a negative reaction from her.

Haruhi should have been angry, she really should have. She thought about the question and what had just happened; was there really any reason to be angry? Would anything be accomplished by it? "No," she decided after much deliberation. "I'm not angry. Just a bit curious."

"About…?"

"About why you would something like that without giving me any type of warning at all. That's very strange of you. It sort of confuses me."

"Well, there's really no need to be confused," Kyouya told her, even though he didn't bother validating his statement. "It was a simple action. A brief moment in time that has passed and is no longer relevant."

That was a little insulting, Haruhi had to admit. "I didn't know you were such a practiced Existentialist," was her light retaliation, trying to cover her slightly wounded pride.

"Did you enjoy it?"

She blushed and looked away, stammering her pathetic attempt at answering the question. "Y-you know, Tamaki would be furious about this if he found out," were the only understandable words she managed to get out.

A smirk occupied Kyouya's lips. "What's odd is that I really wouldn't expect you to care about someone like Tamaki, taking into consideration your upbringing and general personality characteristics. Tamaki is a fool who lives extravagantly and speaks magniloquently."

Haruhi could have been offended and she could have jumped to Tamaki's defense. She didn't, though. She smiled and simply said, "Don't you think 'magniloquently' is a rather ironic word?"

Kyouya smiled, too, but just a little; she'd seen right through his empty insults. "You make a good point," he admitted.

Haruhi stood on her toes and this time, she issued the unexpected kiss.

But it would never happen again, she told herself.
