A/N

It may or may not be self-explanatory, but this poem is based on the ending on the Two Futures double episode finale at the end of Season 1, albeit featuring an adaptation of the song Auld Lang Syne rather than the song itself. It was meant as something of a New Year's Eve/Day poem, but time constraints postponed it. Still, better late than never right?

To the Future

Should this crisis be forgot,

And never brought to mind?

The time-pool's gone, the villains trapped,

So what would people find?

Earth, all that which we hold dear,

Was threatened by dark minds.

Global warming still exists,

Will people see the signs?

To fate, the biosphere did march,

All in a weary line.

Yet darkened fate can be truly swayed,

With aid from rings divine.

Wind and Water, Earth and Fire,

And Heart all in a line.

Upon us all on New Year's Day,

The Arctic sun does shine.

Upon the ice we stand as one,

United for all time.

The future glimpsed, we'll work towards,

A future that's sublime.
