Long flickering shadows were cast upon the now scorched earth. The colors of the sunset adding to the orange glow emanating from the village. Where there had once been shops and homes, full of life even when no one was there, skeletons of buildings remained, simple husks of what had existed before. Bodies lay about here and there, burning or already burned, lingering reminders in the thick smoke that rose in columns to the taint clear air above.
