He had imagined the ideal moment when he would see her again. They would be filled with utmost disbelief at the idea of being free again, but would embrace it at as willingly as they did each other.
Nothing in the imagination can possibly prepare you for what happens in reality.
When the time came, there was none of that sentiment. She looked a bit worst for the wear, and he suspected he himself looked the same. But amidst the chaos of the breakout, their eyes connected across the corridor, and hers still shone a stormy grey. A renewed confidence appeared in those orbs, strengthened by the identical emotion reflected in his own; an assertion of their newfound future, one where they could be together once more.
Neither made an approach for any sort of physical affection, but their eyes conveyed their most crucial thoughts for them. And for the time being, that was enough.
Author's Note(s): I wrote this in a couple minutes, as I was listening to the aforementioned song and was working on writing under pressure. So it might be kind of bad…. Oh well. R&R please!
