Disclaimer: I don't own Sailor Moon, nor will I ever.
Just to let everyone know anything in quotes "…" is speaking. Anything in Italics …. Is the character's personal thoughts. Just like I said here is the first rewritten chapter. I hope it is better than before. Yes while it has some major changes, the bones and the plot of the story is there. I believe that my old version seemed too rushed.
To MerryMary05, Mika Tenoh, bladzesword, ShindouSerenity28, Pink Slytherin, Princess de la Luna, and Celeste-poet thank you for the awesome reviews for the first chapter.
Thank you to my beta reader, you are the best! Hope you like the new version, don't forget to review and let me know how y'all like it.

'The palace looks so beautiful. Too bad it's all just a fake.' The blonde knew she was dreaming, but she could still appreciate the beauty in her long-dead memories. The palace where she grew up as Princess Serenity, was still intact before her. The gardens, where she had played in as a young child, still held her captive with the rare and now non-existent flowers. Serena walked towards the gardens, wishing that this dream would never end. It was peaceful here, no late nights fighting the Dark Kingdom, no late mornings rushing to school, and most of all, no Luna nagging at her. However, her quiet reverie was broken by the harsh sounds of screams. She looked back, and saw the darkness that had long ago destroyed her home. It was like a wave, threatening to crash upon her. And in the center of it was the hateful witch's face. Beryl's eyes seemed to glow as she closed up the former Moon Princess. Serena closed her eyes, knowing what would happen next. Needle like pain erupted on her arm, and with that she awoke from her nightmare.
"LUNA!"
The black cat smirked, knowing she had finally woken up her charge.
"It's about time you woke up Serena! You are going to be late for school again." The feline said crossly. She shook her head, as the blonde began to whip around the room, frantically searching for her uniform. 'Why do I even bother sometimes? You would think she would start acting royal and mature, once she had found out.'
In five minutes flat, Serena was out of the house. Of course, she only had a few scant minutes to make it across town to her school. As she ran faster, Serena smiled with triumph. 'I'm going to make it today! And Ms. H won't believe her eyes, when I'm sitting there before the door closes.' Her triumphant thoughts were cut short however, as she ran into a large, but oh-so-familiar obstacle. Her face scrunched up as she realized she would be late again, but her heart pounded as she saw why. It was him, again. Darien Shields, a rich, good-looking upperclassman, who happened to be her hearts true love reincarnated: Endymion.
The first time she had run into him, she all but fainted at the recognition. He was kind at first, helping her up, but that kindness had sent warning bells through her mind. Until she was done with her mission, she couldn't let him get close. So she did the next logical thing and insulted him. Not to be outdone by a little girl, Darien had fired back, and thus began their verbal sparring matches. Today was no exception.
"Geez Meatball Head, next time wake up on time."
"Next time, move out of my way Jerk!"
"Just don't kill anyone." Darien said with a smile as he left with the last parting shot. She couldn't know that he had intentionally stepped in front of her. From the first time they collided, he felt a sense of protection over her. He felt a spark when he grabbed her hand to pull her up off the sidewalk. However, to his surprise she insulted him and insinuated it was his fault she fell. He fired back without thinking. But now, he looked forward to their fighting matches, and collisions. It was one of the only ways to be around her.
Serena glared at his back. How she hated that insulting nickname, but now was not the time as she would indeed be late. She took off once more, dodging people and buildings alike to get to school.

Molly looked at her friend closely. Was she feeling sick? It was lunch time, yet Serena wasn't scarfing down her food like always.
"Hey Serena, what's wrong? Did your mom not give you a lunch today?"
Serena, for her part, merely opened her lunch to reveal two sandwiches and a pudding cup. Her feelings about this morning's run in with Endymion had caught up with her. 'It's Darien in this time dolt.´
"Sorry Moll, I just don't feel too great today."
"Well how about we go shopping then? We haven't done that in awhile." Molly's eyes shone brightly at the thought.
At the mention of shopping Serena immediately perked up and began chatting happily with Molly about the shops they would hit. Her energy levels shot through the roof.
Across the courtyard Mina Aino sat reading yet another gossip magazine, "I can't believe she's dating him!" she exclaimed. Lita Kino, rolled her eyes as usual to Mina's comment. She was going to make her own remark when she felt an energy surge. Mina dropped the magazine and looked around.
"You felt that too?" Lita asked.
"Yup. It was strong. You don't think that it could be?" Mina replied, too shocked to name the last member of their team who had been missing.
"It could be. It's a good thing we have a meeting after school. The others will want to know."
"We can be a whole team now!" Mina exclaimed. Several of her classmates looked around at her. She quickly picked up the magazine and buried herself back into it.

Raye sat on the steps of her temple, waiting for Darien and the girls to get there for the meeting. The Dark Kingdom had been quiet for the past two weeks and it was beginning to frighten her.
"Raye!"
The raven haired girl looked up at the boisterous blonde calling her name. She wanted to laugh as she saw Mina and Lita running up the steps with a crazed expression on their faces. Lita reached the top first, shortly followed by Mina. Mina stopped to catch her breath, granted she'd felt that she had been out of breath since she felt the energy surge. A small white cat finally made it to the top of the temple. He hated meeting here, but it was a good central location. Artemis glanced at Mina, waiting to hear her big announcement.
"Ok, so Lita and I were at school, and I was reading my magazine, and I had just read an article about-"
"Mina get to the point." Artemis and Raye said in unison. The blonde often got easily carried away in her stories.
"We think that the last scout is here in Tokyo!"
The expressions on Artemis and Raye's face were priceless.
"WHAT?"
"What Mina means is that we think we felt her energy presence at school today." Lita elaborated. She was about to go on, but footsteps behind her told her that Amy and Darien had finally shown up.
"Why does Artemis look like he had a heart attack?" Darien asked. He and Amy heard the girls and cat before making it to the top of the temple. He wondered if the Dark Kingdom had launched an attack.
Mina and Lita proceeded to fill in the other two about the energy level they felt. For so long, they had been an incomplete team, always missing that one component. Even though Darien made a great leader, the girls always felt like something was off. They felt as though a girl should be leading them, the missing scout.
"How soon can we find her?" Darien asked as he glanced out into the temple's courtyard.
"I can run the variables through my computer to figure out who she is." Amy responded quickly.
A small beep went off, alerting them that the Dark Kingdom was now resuming its attacks on the population.
"Or we can always talk to her after this battle." Mina said smiling. Darien nodded and took out a rose to transform. He marveled at how flashy the girl's transformations were. He was glad that becoming Tuxedo Mask was a simple process.
"It's about time they attacked. I was starting to get bored." Sailor Jupiter said as they all headed out, ready for this battle.

After a few hours of shopping, Serena happily carried a large bag of goodies home. Luna had met her at the mall after she had left Molly at the Osa P jewelry shop. The blonde stopped at a park bench, tired from the long day at school. Luna took this opportunity to press her agenda.
"You know Serena, the other Sailor Scouts are here in Tokyo. You might even know them in their civilian forms. Wouldn't it be nice to-"
"I told you no Luna. I am not going to join up with them. I need to find my mother's Silver Imperial Crystal first, and then banish Beryl, before I can even think about talking to them" Serena interrupted.
"It's your duty to lead them as Sailor Moon. You're the Moon Princess for goodness sakes!" Luna replied thoroughly frustrated.
"Yeah like that went well the last time I was Serenity, the Moon Princess. Or do you not remember that they were all killed because of me? Besides, if we all never meet in this lifetime, maybe I can protect them" She said with a sad look.
Luna knew that not knowing who her true friends and guardians were was killing Serena slowly but surely. Every time there was a youma attack, Sailor Moon would get there quickly and destroy the monster before anyone else even witnessed it. Or she would let the Sailor Scouts handle it. Serena had not come face to face with them, but had watched a few of their battles from afar.
"What happened in the Silver Millennium wasn't your fault. The Crystal was simply reacting to your anguish." Luna reasoned.
"Please Luna, as my friend, guardian, and advisor, listen to me. Once Beryl is gone, I will let them know who I am. And hopefully they won't hate me for keeping this secret from them."
Serena sighed, her happiness from shopping marred by the conversation with Luna. Since becoming Sailor Moon she had dreams of her past as Princess Serenity. These dreams were her memories, and had included her closest friends, the Princesses from the Inner planets, and of course Prince Endymion of Earth. Serena was glad that she had run into the reincarnations of the Sailor Scouts yet. They would be the hardest to avoid. A scream interrupted her thoughts.
"Moon Prism Power!" She cried out without hesitation. This youma was close by. She could easily dust it and continue on home. Or so she thought.

The Sailor Scouts were all over the park floor, groaning in pain. This was one of Zoisite's strongest creations yet. Sailor Moon arrived and saw the damage. Her friends were hurt, and the youma was totally sickening. It looked humanoid, but the skin was partially melted away, to reveal tar and bones. It was preparing to finish off the Scouts with a final attack.
"Hold it right there ugly face! I am Sailor Moon, protector of Love and Justice. I will not let you harm these innocent people. In the name of the Moon, I will punish you!"
The youma looked at her curiously, then turned to attack her. It opened its mouth and spat out a viscous liquid at her. Sailor Moon tried to dive out of the way but kluzted out and tripped. The result however, was the same as she had missed being hit by the attack. Sailor Moon watched in horror as the liquid melted the tree and ground.
"Eww. I was almost Sailor Goop!" She cried, as she stood up.
Sailor Venus heard the speech and watched the youma attack Sailor Moon.
"Hey! She's here! The last scout is here!" Venus cried out to the others. She was hurting in the worst way, but the sight of Sailor Moon made it almost go away. Tuxedo Mask heard the speech, but his first instinct was to check in on his scouts.
"It's about time she shows up!" Mars grumbled as Tuxedo Mask helped her up off the ground.
"At least she's here Mars" he replied finally getting a look at the new Sailor Scout. His breath caught, and he felt suddenly very protective of Sailor Moon.
"Ya missed me!" Moon called out as the youma tried to body slam her into a tree.
"You're mine moon brat," it called out in a harsh tone. The youma began to charge Moon once again. Sailor Moon looked to take a step back, but tripped over a fallen branch and landed on her butt.
"Why does that always happen?" Moon wondered as she tried to get back up.
"Sailor Moon, watch out!" Several voices called out.
"Jupiter Thunder!"
"Venus Love Chain!"
The Scout of the Moon raised a hand to defend herself, but it was in vain as she was scooped up into strong arms. She opened her eyes to see a black tuxedo, and a white domino mask covering the man's face.
"Are you ok Sailor Moon? We've waited and looked for you for so long."
The blonde nodded as he placed her back onto the ground. The youma was getting tired from all of the Sailors antics, and the last attack from Jupiter and Venus almost wiped it out. Mercury has just released her Bubbles, which clouded the area. Turning to Tuxedo Mask, she replied "Thanks, but they need my help." She ran off to finish off the monster.
"Moon Tiara Magic!"
The deadly disc flew towards the hideous creature, and ripped through it, turning it to dust. The scream from the youma resonated in their ears. Sailor Moon gave a sigh of relief as the Dark Kingdom had failed in gathering neither energy nor rainbow crystals. Most importantly, the scouts were safe. In fact, the scouts were making their way towards her.
'Uh-oh. Not good.' Sailor Moon thought as she started to slowly back away from them. She put on a fake smile, as Luna leapt onto her shoulder.
"Farewell my friends, if you should ever need help again, I will be there," she said cutting them off. She worried that her voice would crack with the emotion at seeing her beloved friends. She turned and quickly disappeared in the darkness of the night.
The Sailor Scouts were stunned. They had just found their leader and she had ditched them. For a solid two minutes they stood there, trying to process what exactly happened. Tuxedo Mask snapped them out of their stupor.
"Come on girls, it's getting late. Maybe tomorrow at school Venus and Jupiter can get into contact with her in civilian form." He reasoned. He was confused with Moon's behavior, but he figured she didn't know if she could join their team or not. After a few more minutes of chatting about Sailor Moon, they all dispersed.
/
Sailor Moon entered her room through her window and de-transformed. Serena threw herself onto her bed and began to cry quietly. Luna knew that the fight tonight had been tough on her charge. She curled up next to Serena, offering her comfort.
"Oh Luna, it was so wonderful to see them. Yet, it's painful to know that I can't tell them anything. I have to win this fight alone."
"You could tell-"
"No! It would put them in greater danger than they are in now. It has to be this way Luna. Until I find the Silver Imperial Crystal and defeat the Dark Kingdom, they can't know who I am." Serena interrupted as she pulled the blankets over her. She began to snore softly.
"Goodnight Serena."
