Hey, I have seen a lot of fanfics about this. I didn't particular like any of them, as they all portrayed Snape in a different light than I thought he would be. Even though I don't like him, I still think he would have let go of his hate of Harry. He still hated James of course, but he realized that Harry was just as much his mother as his father. I hope you all like it, and please don't flame me or anything. It wouldn't help, because this is already made up in my mind! It will only be a few chapters.

I dedicate this to my beta, who will read this first*though I don't know if she will like it*

I walked down the hall, sulking. James has just made fun of my name. Again. It annoyed me, because I knew how special it was. Sometimes it got to me though. Why did Dad have to name me after those men? Albus Severus? That was the most old fashion name he could have come up with. I sat down against a wall and looked around at the portraits on the wall.

One was a witch who decided to try to join the dogs playing poker. They wouldn't let her, and it was hilarious. Another was of a stately old man who had a table of candy behind him. I was wondering about that. Why was the candy there? Oh well. That last one caught my eye like the other two didn't. It was looking back at me. I got up and went to stand in front of it. He was staring at me in wonder and I looked down to try to see what was wrong.

"Umm… w-why are you staring at me?" I managed to stutter out. I was never very good at socializing like James. I was popular, but it was just because of my dad. I still had no idea what he had done to become famous. He seemed to be pulled out of his thoughts.

"Well, I believe that you were also staring at me!" He replied. I looked down, blushing. He was right. I heard something in his voice that sounded like resentment mixed with longing.

"Oh, I'm very sorry sir." I said, trying to be polite. Even as a portrait, this man scared me. He looked kind of like a bat with his black hair and dark robe that billowed behind him.

"It is okay, boy. Just answer this question: What is your name?" he sounded genuinely curious, so I answered him.

"My name is Albus Severus Potter!" I exclaimed, launching into the story of the men I was named after, "My dad said he named me after two of the greatest headmasters in the world! When I didn't want to go to Slytherin he said that one of them was from that house, and he was the bravest man he knew!" I was starting to feel better about my name, but when I looked up into his face I was worried again. He was frozen in place, almost like those pictures aunt Hermione would show me. The muggle ones. I had no idea what I had said. I waved my hand in front of his face. He snapped out of it and stared down at me, his gaze searching. He snapped out his next words

"Well, your father seems to have had a change of heart. Do you know who you are talking to?" I shook my head no. "You are talking to the late headmaster Severus Snape! Therefore, one of your namesakes!" He closely watched my reaction, but I barely paid attention. I stood there shocked, then a smile came across my face.

"Cool! I never knew I would meet my namesake! This is so cool! James is never going to believe this!" He stiffened, hatred entering his eyes.

"What do you mean, James?" he hissed.

"M-my older brother. He is a year older than me, and he likes to mock me. I can't wait to tell him I met my namesake and he didn't!" I was still excited no matter how angry he was.

"Did you know that I knew your grandparents?" I shook my head no. He smiled, "Well, I have a story for you.
