Summary: Emil is having trouble sleeping.

A/N: Uhhh… Yea. No explanation for this disturbing, kinda crappy drabble. Although, I hope you like it. It's not my best, but if you have an imagination like mine and my descriptions were okay, then you should be able to get that cute, adorable image I was going for.

Lay Me To Sleep

"Absence diminishes small loves and increases great ones, as the wind blows out the candle and blows up the bonfire."

Emil sighed, sitting in his ever-white mind, bags underneath his green eyes.

"What's up with you, Emil?"

Ratatosk blinked, "You have bags under your eyes. When was the last time you got to sleep?"

"'Bout a week ago…"

Ratatosk sighed, "It's a good thing that I'm the one that fights for you… You'd fall unconscious in battles otherwise…"

"Mhm…"

"Have you tried counting Carbuncles?"

"Yes…"

Ratatosk blinked, "What about drinking warm milk? Tried that?"

"Mhm…"

"Drugs?"

Emil groaned, "That'd be bad if I drugged myself to sleep… I wouldn't be able to wake up in an emergency…"

Ratatosk nodded, "I can try to help. I can't be sure it'll help, but it might work."

"Would you, please?"

Emil sat up, only to yelp, startled, as a set of arms wrapped around his petite waist, forcing Emil to lean up against the owner of the opposing appendages. Emil's head lie on Ratatosk's shoulder in a way many would believe them to be in love.

"R-Ratatosk?"

"It's alright, Emil…" Ratatosk whispered into his ear, his lips caressing the delicate skin. He brought a hand up to comb through the blonde's hair, muttering, "Just go to sleep." Emil smiled, curling into the warmth of another body next to his. He'd never had this luxury.

"Thanks… Ratatosk…"

"No need to thank me…" Ratatosk sighed, "Just go to sleep…"

"I miss you while I sleep; but then, I find you in my dreams."

A/N:: Yup… I hope you guys liked it. I took out and added a couple of things. One of the removed things being a love confession, actually. I was also thinking about writing a second chapter to go with this, to make it a two-shot…

Oh yea! And for those who can't remember or don't know what a Carbuncle is, it's that fire-bunny thing. I have one on mine named Geo! He's one of my two strongest monsters at level 87. I'm also becoming a EmilXAnybodyButMarta fan. I fangirled over RichterXEmil, I am fangirling over RatatoskXEmil, and now I like EmilXAlice, EmilXColette, EmilXSeles(Yes, I know. Shut up.)… I've also liked LloydXEmil since I started the game. Damn you, mind! Damn you!
