Sasuke gazed around him, but all he could see was darkness. The dull, emotionless eyes of Itachi Uchiha, his older brother and X-Konoha nin gazed back at him. He was standing not too far from Sasuke, but between the two lay massive amounts of blood. Bodies lay scattered around the terrain and Sasuke knew that Itachi had caused this, but what terrefied him most was that in his brother's grip was Sakura Hurano. The raven haired Akatsuki member held a kunai to her neck and she was whimpering, far too afraid then Sasuke wanted to see her, the girl who had always had a crush on him.

"Itachi, let her go!" Sasuke yelled across the massive waistland. Itachi smirked at the weak emotions of his younger brother and pushed the kunai closer. Sakura released a small yelp, but remained still, paralized from shock.

All she had wanted was his attention, for him to notice her...

"Why? Does she mean something to you?" Itachi asked, his voice deep, cool, emotionless. The lack of emotion caused Sasuke to tremble, exactly what he had promised himself he would have no chance of doing. "This girl, the one you ignored the cries of attention for? The one who protected you? The one who begged you to stay when you were far from doing so? The one who loved you?" Itachi shook his head, dissapointedly. "And now when she's only moments from death, you actually care?"

She had told him she loved him, but he refused to notice, to care, to believe...

The cold kunai neared her flesh and she cried out for help, but Sasuke couldn't bear to look at her. This girl, the girl he had spent his life with, trained with, battled with, he had never bothered to actually notice her, yet she had cared for him the entire time, and now he found himself feeling the same way at the final seconds of her life. "Sasuke-kun..." she begged as tears streamed down her face. Tender drops of blood fell down the blade of the kunai as it silently, shallowly pierced her flesh.

She called him Sasuke-kun in a way of respect and romance...

"He doesn't care for you at all." Itachi coldly replyed to her pleas and her begs. "All he cares about is his own strength, his own power and destroying me."

She raised her strength to impress him, to have a chance to bring him back...

Sasuke found himself tearing up as Sakura struggled to escape his older brother's grasp. "I'm too weak, I can't save her..." He drew his attention to the hundreds of dead bodys, his friends, his family, his clan, Naruto, Kakashi, Iruka, Ino, Mom, Dad... Sasuke found himself whimpering as well, as he slowly wiped his eyes. As the last inch of flesh was embraced by the stone cold kunai, Sasuke fell to his knees into full crying, something he had never done for years, since his family's death. A puddle of blood pooled at his brother's feet, and for a moment he saw himself in his brother's grip. Sakura's lifeless eyes stared into his and he slowly blacked out.

All she ever wanted was you Sasuke, and you turned her down, too many times for one heart to bear...

Sasuke woke up, breathing heavily and sweating. He pulled his covers off and grabbed his cloak, looking at the time. "It's 3:24...must have been dreaming. It was just a nightmare." The dream had caused him to start tearing up for real as well, and he rubbed his eyes to get rid of the tears. The voices repeated themselves in his head and he went out to get a glass of water.

After thirstily gulping down his glass, he sighed and dialed a number on the phone.

"Hello? Yes Sakura, it's Sasuke. I just wanted to say...thank you for everything."
