Dear Doctor,

I am writing this as you send me off to share the stories… I met a girl named Aleesha, and she inspired me so much. She—she reminded me of you. She noticed my sparkling earrings, so I took them off. She was sweet and had the same dark eyes as you did. I am writing this as Japan goes up in flames, because, Doctor, I promised you that I would not be weak, I would not be weak. For almost a year, I have not cried. But when the Drast and my friends Hito and others were put into flames, I did. I wept for a long, long, time. Then, I went on a boat with my friend Matt, and he took me back to London after 365 days. I am in Tom Milligan's car. I have to save the world, Doctor. I understand. But I am writing because I know. You sacrifice everything for everybody each and every day. You helped me so much. I love you, Doctor. Rose made me jealous, and Jack made me realize, that I wasn't the first. There were others, he had told me. Sarah Jane Smith, Tegan, Romana, you lost your family, Doctor. What did I lose? Nothing yet, but I might be like you before I know it. Last of the Human Race. That is not going to happen, Doctor. Never ever. I will get my medical degree. I will continue traveling the stars with you and Jack. I will keep on living. With you, I always felt as if I was number 2, but now, the world and tons of galaxies out there are in my hands. You can trust me. I will, continue to live. That's one thing you can count on.

Sincerely,

Doctor Martha Jones, Medical Student and Time Traveller
