Hello. Just another short thing I wrote. It's all my Psychology classes fault. Personality theories, of course. Defense mechanisms were the brain child of Sigmund Freud, not me. CSI Miami is not mine, I'd be rich if I owned either. Mistakes are mine. I love Reviews. CC welcome, not flames. I hope you enjoy.

Defense Mechanisms

Denial- He kept hearing it over and over again, but he didn't believe. He couldn't believe it. To him, Speed didn't die that day in the jewelry shop. He just went on an extended vacation. To Eric, Speeds death never happened.

Repression- Ryan was asked what caused his disorder often, but he honestly didn't remember. All he says is that's important for everything to be done right. There are consequences if he doesn't follow orders and make everything perfect.

Displacement- He never really had the best childhood, but he made his living putting away people like his father and more. Without realizing it, Horatio sees his father in every one of the men he puts away for the death of a woman. It always made him feel better when good justice is served.

Sublimation- Calleigh was frustrated. She wanted to kill the bastard that was sitting in the interrogation room. She walked off to test his gun for striations, she knows he did it, and she was going to nail his ass, without putting a bullet in it. Won't the higher-ups be happy.

Intellectualization- Whenshe firstheard she was ill, she needed to know what it was. Marisol went immediately to the library; she wanted to know what she was dealing with. Maybe it won't be as bad as the doctor said. She needed to know all she could about her cancer.

Rationalization- It's his entire fault. She was being handcuffed and put in jail because of this man before her. Tara wouldn't be going to jail if Ryan didn't go around snooping. It's his fault.

Projection- "My husband was cheating on me. That's why I did it." "Were you not having an affair at the time?" "Yes, one time, bit I could tell. He was sleeping with everyone. And he was jealous, so I toke care of him." "Some way of taking care of him. Book her." The suspect didn't realize her husband wasn't cheating at all.

Regression- Calleigh saw Eric and Ryan with their backs turned away from each other. "What happened this time?" "He won't listen!" "I won't!? It's you who won't listen to me!" Calleigh just walked out. They'll get over their temper-tantrums soon. They never last too long.

Reaction Formation- He thought Ryan was a fantastic CSI, and great at what he did, but he wouldn't admit that. He would just keep arguing with him, maybe Ryan wouldn't find that out. Eric just went on as if he hated him.

There are more, but I haven't thought of any for the others.
