Chapter 8: When We Make the Most Mistakes
Things were beyond awkward between Kagome and Saya, not that it was the latter or the formers fault. Kagome had wanted nothing to do with her older sister at the moment. She didn't want to be stuck with the person that caused all this bullshit that has been going on. Every time she decide to speak with Saya, Kai would come in between the two. Riku really wanted the two girls to be friendly to each other, but Kai was completely pissing Kagome off.
Kagome didn't want to be with Saya and her merry crew as they hunted down Diva. There had to be a way to save Diva. She was completely misunderstood and was only craving attention. She could remember the loneliness she saw in her eyes back at the zoo. For everyday she spent with Saya, the stronger her urge to save Diva got. Plus, she wanted to know who the blue-eyed stranger was that she kept running into. Every night she traveled out and wandered around Paris, she would run into him, he would feed her and they would talk for hours.
For Saya, she was afraid of what she might remember if she interacted with her little sister. These were trying times for all of them and she wanted to stay focused on her current goal. There was a very small part of her that wanted to embrace the younger girl but she was scared. It didn't seem like she liked her at all, and she wondered what happened between the two of them.
Kagome was currently in her room with Riku. She was teaching her self how to play the piccolo.
"Wow, you are so good with instruments." Riku said in awe.
Kagome looked up from the instrument and smiled. "Wind instruments were always my favorite. Saya was good with strings and Diva was the vocalist. I can sing too, but nowhere near as good as Diva."
"Her song...I heard it at the zoo...in fact, I heard it before but this time it was much stronger and called out to me."
Kagome's smiled faltered a bit at the memory of the zoo. "I am so sorry..."
Riku shook his head and smiled brightly at the smaller girl. "It wasn't your fault. You saved me though, and I get to spend time with my family."
Kagome nodded and went back to fiddling with her piccolo. Finally she began to play it.
Riku was entranced by the melody being played so expertly by Kagome.
When she finished Riku and Haji, who walked into the room, clapped. Feeling a small blush form on her cheeks at the attention, Kagome warmly greeted her old friend.
"I remember that song. 'The Sweet Sound'."
"It was one of Joel's favorites. I used to sing it for him." Kagome said taking it apart to clean it out.
"It has been a long time since I played a woodwind...if only it was wood." she said, frowning at the amount of spit that she managed to get in it.
"The only instrument I know how to play is a recorder. Haji-san, can you play anything else other than your cello?"
Kagome snorted, and Haji frowned.
"I can play the harp and viola." he said.
"Pretty much any instrument Saya could play." Kagome said, rolling her eyes.
"Kagome-chan. How is it that you remember a lot of you past compared to my sister? You have moments when you slept longer and in different time periods so shouldn't your memory be just as distorted?"
Kagome shook her head. "No. Whenever I woke up, my two chevaliers Sesshomaru and Kagura would cut my hair, teach me about the current time I lived in, and reminded me of everything that I been through. There was that time between my trips down the well where I didn't know anything about my life. That was only because I feel asleep in the past before my chevaliers could find me. However, there was something that I seemed to instinctively remember..."
"What?" he asked her.
"I seem to suck at using bows of any kind."
Another month went by and Kagome was still in Paris. She was happy that she could remember her french so she was always out at night. Riku still didn't like it, but Kagome reassured him that she would be fine. It was 2 in the morning but people were still out and about on the streets.
Kagome was walking until she reached the Eiffel Tower. Seeing it in books was nothing compared to staring right up at it. She was going to go up when a guard told her it was closed. Before she could turn around and walk away someone grabbed her arm.
"I believe you can make an exception..." Kagome turned and soulful blue eyes stared back into her stormy blue eyes.
"It's you again."
"Come with me..." he said holding out his hand to her.
Suddenly feeling shy, Kagome reached out and touched his hand and a spark ran right down her spine.
'This...this feels nice...' she thought, a small smile on her lips.
When the two of them reached the top, Kagome looked out in awe. The lights of the city was magnificent. That was the only way she could describe it. Russia was beautiful and Japan was bright, but the lights in Paris was soft and dazzling.
"Beautiful, no?" he said to her. Kagome nodded.
"How is my sister?"
Solomon looked at her in surprise.
"What?" she asked. She felt him looking at her and smiled when she turned and saw his shocked face.
"How did you...?"
"I can smell her on you..." she said tapping her nose.
Solomon nodded and stared back out at the view.
"She is...indescribable. When I first met her...she was extremely child like...spoiled. When I was turned into her chevalier, I remember being terrified of her. She was nothing like I ever met or known. She possessed abilities I have never seen...my brother Amshel..."
"Wait...that creep is your brother?" Solomon nodded.
"Other than the softness around the eyes, and the blank facial expression, you two look nothing alike." Kagome muttered.
"Then I shall take that as a complement. Are you hungry?" He asked her.
"Are you going to keep feeding me every time we see each other? Are we not sworn enemies?" she asked him, eying him warily.
"At this moment, the only person Diva is after is Saya. She hasn't made any request for us to kill you so you aren't a target. Also, this is leisure time for me. We aren't with Diva all the time. Another thing I have realized...we can't exactly be enemies if you aren't on anyone's side now can we?"
Kagome smiled at him and nodded. "If you put it that way, I can see what you mean. I have a taste for beef."
"Actually, I happen to know a good recipe for beef wellington. Would you like to join me for dinner at my home?"
Kagome thought about it before she nodded. What is the worst that could happen?
"Oh my god, this is worse. This is very worse!" Kagome was having a panic attack. The only thing she remembered was eating with Solomon, listening to some music...then he taught her how to waltz properly. After that...after that...
"Oh my god, did we have sex?!" Kagome was still in a very soft bed dressed in nothing at all. She didn't feel sore and she couldn't see any bites anywhere so maybe they hadn't done anything at all.
Kagome climbed out of the bed and searched for her clothing. They were nowhere to be found.
"What the hell did I do?" she whispered, frantically trying to find something to wear. Finding a dresser draw, she dug through it until she found a males dress shirt. Sliding it on, she noticed that the shirt ended right above her knees.
It was then that she decided to take in the decor of the room. It was pure white. Not a speck of color anywhere. Taking a glance out of the near by window she could tell that she was no where near the Eiffel Tower anymore.
"Please god...please tell me I did not give up my virginity to a guy I met twice who is also trying to kill my sister."
"I am not trying to kill your sister. There was once a moment that I found my self fancying her so Diva kept me away from her. I thought we already talked about that?"
Kagome rounded on him with a glare on her face. "Oh so because she didn't fall for your damn charms you decided to go after the younger sister? Really smooth there asshole!" she yelled throwing a nightstand at him.
"I don't understand...?"
"You brought me here so that you could have a little petty screw! Or what? Were you gonna give me up to Diva? Is she after me and you lied to me?" this time she tossed the desk at him.
"Kagome...we didn't have sex."
Kagome was getting ready to scream at him some more but then it registered in her head just what he said.
"We...we didn't have sex?"
Solomon shook his head no.
"You are a wonderful kisser however." he added.
Kagome could feel her blush rising on her face. "What happened then after we danced?"
"After we danced we played several rounds in pinnacle, we drank and told each other terrible jokes and you got drunk from a bottle of 100 year old brandy. After you passed out, I put you in bed."
"Then where are my clothes?" she asked.
"I took the liberty of washing them for you. At some point you must have woke up because they were laying right outside of the door." he couldn't keep down the smile that was forming on his face. She looked so confused it was...cute.
"So...what is for breakfast?" she asked him.
Solomon walked out of the door and she followed behind him.
"I had breakfast brought up to us. I hope you enjoy it." Kagome nodded and plopped on the couch near the food. Grabbing bits of food from ever tray, she sampled a bit before grabbing a bigger portion.
After the two of them finished eating, he gave her her clothes and she showered and dressed.
"I think it is sad. When I walk out of this room, people are going to be looking at me as if I was a hooker." she muttered as she grabbed an apple off of the table.
"When you leave here..." he started and Kagome smiled at him.
"Yeah, I know. We will always have Paris, ne?"
Solomon could feel his lips quirk but nodded and closed the door behind her. Leaning against the door, he put his hand on face and smirked.
Perhaps she must have forgotten that she was only wearing one of his shirts at the time, but he didn't. For someone of her height, she had very long legs and a nice round butt which was exposed when she flopped on the couch. Also, the particular shirt she wore was quite sheer. The view of dusty pink nipples straining against that shirt made his blood boil.
Never mind that fact that, although they did not have sex, he did get to have a little...taste.
stopping right there!
Can anyone guess where I got the line "We will always have Paris" from?
Action will start in the later chapters, just felt like putting in some filler :D
