Ok, here's my second story. It's short I know, but the long ones take too long to read.

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Sonic characters, even though Shadow's cute. They're not mine.

Now, on with the story!

Amy Rose was walking along a path in the woods without really aiming for a certain direction. Why doesn't he like me? she thought. When she looked up in what she estimated to be ten minutes, she was at her friend Cream the Rabbit's house. Cream is only about ten, but she and Tails the Fox, who is twelve, have a steady relationship. She could always trust the young bunny to cheer her up. Amy walked up to the door and knocked on it. "Just a minute." Cream yelled through the door. A minute later, Cream came out looking like she was about to go out. "What's wrong Amy? You look upset." she said with concern. "It's Sonic, he seems mad at me..." Amy whispered. Amy was a big fan of the famous speedy hedgehog Sonic, but he just didn't really like her. "Well, I'm not sure what to say this time..." Cream said sadly, "I was just heading out to meet Tails for a movie date." Amy felt guilty coming to the other girl with her own problems when Cream and Tails were happily dating. "That's okay Cream, you can go now." With that, Amy walked away.

She wondered around for a while and found herself at her other friend, Knuckles the Echidna's quiet habitat. "Knuckles! Where are you?" Amy yelled, "I need some cheering up!" Knuckles looked down from the ruins he was standing on and glanced at the pink hedgehog. Tikal the Echidna, Knuckles's girlfriend, walked around from the other side of the Master Emerald. "Is this a bad time?" Amy asked, once again feeling guilty at disturbing someone else's relationship. "No, we were actually looking for something to do." Tikal replied. With a sigh, Amy sat down on one of the rocky step leading to the Master Emerald. "What's wrong Amy?" Knuckles wondered. "It's Sonic again. He keeps running away from me." Amy said unhappily. "Didn't you stop chasing him last month?" Tikal asked. Amy nodded, thinking the same thing. She stood up and turned to face the echidnas. "I think I'll take another walk and see where I end up." Amy once again walked away from her friends, leaving them looking after her.

She walked about for another half hour when she bumped into someone. She looked up from the ground and saw a semi-friend Shadow the Hedgehog. His face was hard as usual. Amy blushed and apoligized to the black hedgehog. "Hmm." he mumbled. He looked at her sad face, and said, "What's wrong Amy? Is faker giving you hell again?" Amy looked at him with surprise. How had he figured that out? she thought. Amy once again nodded and looked back at the ground, her sadness growing every minute. Shadow took a step closer to other hedgehog, realizing for the first time how cute she was. A single tear fell down Amy's cheek, and Shadow reached up to brush it off. Amy looked up at Shadow again, and he said, "Don't cry, my Rose." She blushed even more now, and he put his arms around her to pull her close. Close up, Amy saw that he too was blushing, but it was barely noticable in his black fur. She held her breath as Shadow, very slowly, leaned forward and kissed her. They stood there very close for a moment, and pulled away from the kiss. I don't need Sonic, Amy thought, Not when I have Shadow. My Shadow
