Disclaimer: I don't own Mai Hime.
Just a short little drabble I wrote up when I was bored. I hardly use Reito as a good-guy character so I thought I could try it out, even if it is a bit short. Please review? =)
The two of them had just finished up their work in the Student Council room. The sun was setting, causing the room to take on an orange hue. Everything had been normal all day except one of the two had been noticeably depressed all day.
Kanzaki Reito had been debating with himself the whole time they were working silently together. Finally, he decided to simply ask, wanting to know and possibly help his close friend, "Shizuru-san?"
She picked up her gaze from the papers she was packing into her bag, "Yes?"
"What's wrong?" He asked bluntly, yet gently.
"Hm?" She smiled, tilting her head slightly to the side.
The raven-haired man sighed, shaking his head, "You might be able to hide it from others, Shizuru-san, but I know you better than that. Something's bugging you."
Shizuru flashed him a smile -"How perceptive of you, Reito-kun."- before it dropped. She stared back down to the remaining papers, her red eyes staring intently, "I've just been wondering something as of late."
"May I ask what's been bothering you?" The vice-president asked.
Fujino turned to Kanzaki, "Am I really a lesbian?"
Reito blinked. Well, that was uncharacteristically blunt of Fujino. How do I respond to something like that?
Shizuru giggled slightly at Reito's silent response. "I guess you can say I'm hetro-curious," She joked. "'Yes, I'm attracted to girls, but is that because I've never kissed a guy before?' Thoughts like this have been appearing in my head recently." The brunette explained.
Shizuru then turned serious all the sudden, looking straight into Reito's yellow eyes, "Would you mind helping me?" She got up out of her chair.
Reito gave a gentlemen's smile, "Not at all."
"Thank you," Shizuru smiled as she walked toward the door, where Reito stood. "Please just stand right there then."
Reito frowned in confusion, "Shizu—mrph?" His eyes shot open as their lips connected, being pulled into a deep kiss.
After about seven seconds, Shizuru pulled back and brought her finger to her lips looking thoughtful. She then sighed, shrugging helplessly, "Nope, this didn't do anything for me. I guess I really am a lesbian." She smiled, "Well, I'm off. I have a rendezvous with Natsuki at five, so I better hurry. Thank you for your help."
And then she was gone, as if the last five minutes hadn't happened.
Reito, on the other hand, was still stunned in place. I don't know whether to feel happy for Shizuru-san or feel rejected for being shot down so bluntly…
Kanzaki was finally able to move again after a bit. He smiled awkwardly, "Well, my ego just went down the drain," He jested. Reito looked to the setting sun outside the window, "Perhaps I should try to find a 'most important person' as well?..."
