Okay so obviously i don't own any of the characters or rights to Torchwood would that i did but i thought it would be fun to play with a couple of the characters a bit.
I swear this is the last time
Jack lifted Gwen and sat her down at her work station, her dark hair spilled over the desk. She looked so sweet, so vulnerable and so utterly, utterly desirable.
This is the last time, he told himself as he watched her sleeping, this has to be the last time, but he knew he was lying to himself. She had touched his heart as only two other people had.
She'd wake up soon and he'd smile and tell her that she had fallen asleep at her desk again, that she was working too hard, that she should spend more time at home. He was sending her home to another man and she would never remember that for the last two hours he had loved her. She never remembered, the recton in the cup of coffee he always made her after saw to that.
She always thought that she really had fallen asleep, and then she'd smile at him and run out of the hub and back to her her normal life her flat and the waiting arms.
Stop, don't do that to yourself don't think about her with him. You're the one who told her that she had to have a normal life too, but you can't let her have that can you, because you want her to yourself. The thought of her with him drives you mad, you want to go over there and pull her out of that flat to have her all to yourself.
How many times has it been now?
How many times have you invented an excuse to keep her late?
How many times have you made love to her and then stolen the memory from her?
How many times have you held her close and told her that you love her?
How many times can you stand to see her walk away?
This is the last time, but like every time before that's a lie, you know that's a lie you're too scsred to tell her. You'll keep on doing this because you can't bear not to, you can't stand not to have a little part of her that's all yours.
Jack stood up went to Tosh's desk and wiped part of the security camera tape looping it back with some other old mundane incident that had happened, only he would ever know only he would have the memory that right here in the hub he and Gwen made wild unrestrained love. Only he would ever know, and yet it wasn't enough.
He heard her stirring and schooled his face to a smile. "Hey sleepy head, you're over doing it, working too hard, you need to spend more time at home and less in the office."
She gave him that sleepy little smile like he knew she would, like she always did. It was now or never.
"Gwen."
"Yeah Jack." she turned and looked at him and he bottled it, again
"Have a good evening."
She waved and disappeared through the door. His chance was gone again why couldn't he tell her when it mattered, it was just three little words. I love you.
On the other side of the door she lent against the wall. He looked so vulnerable for some reason, like he did some evenings when she fell asleep at her work station. If only she could pluck up the courage she should let it go, but why couldn't she say it to him what would be the harm of those three little words. I love you.
I swear she thought to herself this is the last time it'll put myself through this next time it'll say it.
I swear this is the last time, but she knew it was a lie.
This was the last time, till the next time.
