Chapter Eight

Yuki knew that there wasn't much he could teach Kagome at least not before she had to go back through the well; seeing as most of the things he knew took quite a while to learn. Most of the time years, which was time that they didn't currently have.

As he knew that, one Kagome wasn't patient enough to wait that long; something Yuki couldn't blame her for. Two, neither was the hot headed Hanyou Inuyasha, who would most likely try in some way to retrieve Kagome soon; which if he did Yuki would show him exactly what he thought about that.

And lastly, as well as probably most importantly, if the Jewel that Kagome broke was as powerful as everyone had made it sound. Which Yuki was sure it was as it had felt like it was to him before it had broken. Then they really couldn't afford to spend as long as it would take to train Kagome up the standards, Yuki wanted her to be at, before she went back to the Feudal era in the first place.

Meaning, that all they really had time for Yuki to do, was training her up in the bare basics of what he wanted to learn. Before they had to pack up and go end up going back to the Feudal era to begin with. Luckily, Yuki really wasn't doing all the training from the bottom up, as he would have otherwise, as Kagome wasn't completely untrained as she thought she was; at least in regards to fighting.

Seeing as Yuki had been training her, for over a year in dancing. Or at least that was what Kagome had thought, only to find out it had been Yuki's fighting style disguised as dancing to begin with.

And boy had she been rather ticked off to find out Yuki had been tricking her to learn to fight all along despite the fact she had stated she didn't want to. Worst yet, at least in her mind, her mother had been the one who had given Yuki the idea in the first place.

Or at least she was ticked off, until Yuki informed her it was just one less thing he had to start her in learning, and that instead of staying here she could continue to learn most of those lessons, as well as the other future lessons he had planned for her, back in the feudal Era.

For now, he really wanted to see her get a handle on at least calling on her Miko powers, and the more basics in the Bow and Arrow. Something he really wanted her to know how to do before he felt it was safe for her to go back. As he felt that those where the thing Kagome was going to end up relying on the most.

Not to mention he also wanted to both change their clothing to something that wasn't as reveling. Which was something that Kagome had full out repelled against at first as she swore that in no way was she wearing exactly what they had back then.

Something he had to constantly argue with Kagome about until he got her to partially agree with changing her cloths. It wasn't exactly what he wanted her to wear. But at least in the end he had gotten her to see that her school uniform was a no go when it came to going back into the past. By both mentioning the cost it would cost their mother by having to constantly replace said rather expensive but utterly flimsy school uniform.

As well as the very little protection said uniform gave her; not to mention the idea it could put into the heads of the men in that time. Head that would soon roll if they ever thought of trying something.

However in the end it was because of these points, and the fact she saw how her school uniform moved when she trained, not to mention how it was messed up, that Kagome decided to listen to brother and change what she was going to wear during that time. Even if it there was a lot of grumbling involved in this; as Kagome really liked her school uniform. As she found it utterly adorable.

Still, Yuki was grateful for this, and had ended up talking Kagome into an outfit that, while not blending in as much as he would have liked, wasn't nearly as reveling or unprotective as the school uniform had been.

With it all ending up with Yuki wearing his fighting uniform from his classes and what he was supposed to wear when he went into competitions; with his hair pulled up in away it wouldn't get in his way; like he normally had his hair anyway . While Kagome had decided to wear an outfit very similar to his, seeing in fact it was one of his older ones.

Seeing as Kagome felt it was more comfortable than anything else, she had in her closet, and yet still be strong enough for her to fight in without worrying about damaging it too much. She had also pulled her hair up into a ponytail after remembering all the times in Yuki's competition someone tried to pull his hair in a desperate move to win. Knowing that her hair could also be used as a weakness as well, and not wanting that to happen.

After getting the clothes ready Yuki decided that, while Kagome once more went to work on her aim with it came to her bows. As Yuki had already made sure that she could call on her powers pretty well, after he had set her down and made her meditate every night to connect with said Miko powers. Which she could now do nearly seventy-five percent of the time instead of the near fifty percent it had been before; with her really only being able to access it when her life was in danger.

Still with her occupied with working on her aim, Yuki began to work on the bags they would be taking back with them when they did go back through the Well. Bags which he filled the supplies he felt they would need, like foods, the things they would need to cook said food, extra water, bathing supplies, medical supplies, extra clothing, some potions, a rune warding kit, some school books for Kagome, as well as of course extra weapons and the things they would need to care for them.

And Yuki did this with both bags. Spelling them to be much larger on the inside than they would be on the outside to make sure they would be able to carry all of this, and whatever else they decided to add at a later date.

Not to mention feather light for who ever would be carrying them; as Yuki knew that they would be carrying those bags for long periods of time. And considering just how many supplies where in the bags they would be rather heavy. Though he did consider removing the feather light spell later on in Kagome's training so she could use it as a sort of weight training; but that was simply food for thought later on.

Then he proceeded, using his own money from the fighting competitions he had won, to fill the bags to the brim with all the formerly mentioned supplies. Knowing that even as he did so, if he hadn't spelled the bags to be as light as they were Kagome wouldn't have even been able to lift one of them; let alone carry it like she was going to have to; thank the gods for magic after all. But again, it would be something that Yuki would make sure Kagome, as well as himself, worked on at a later date.

Yuki had just finished backing the bags and seeing that Kagome was now hit what she aimed for eight out of ten times and would only improve from there. Knew that he really couldn't stop her from going back to the past. Not when she had worked so hard on improving herself in such a short amount of time.

Something Kagome seem to know as well, if the fact she was wearing her new outfit and smirking at him meant anything. But before he could hand her the bag, he had just packed for her, as it was her favorite bright yellow backpack. The door behind them burst open letting in familiar, and in Yuki case a much disliked, figure of Inuyasha. Who upon seeing both Kagome and Yuki gruffly asked.

"You two idiots who told you, you could go home?" Yuki hearing this and feeling a familiar eye twitch start back up took a deep breath to keep himself in his normal calm state. Feeling as Inuyasha had already drawn too many reactions from him already to see him react again.

As Yuki was doing this, Inuyasha went to grab the both of them and drag them back through the well, which given the state Yuki was in might not have ended up to well for him. Fortunately, it seemed their mother could see this, or perhaps her curiosity got the best of her. Because before Inuyasha could grab either Kagome or Yuki she stated.

"Just wait a minute." Before quickly going over, and just like her daughter had before started petting the silver dog ears on his head. Something that had Yuki almost face palming an urge he really didn't resist when Souta seeing what their mother was doing stated.

"Oh, me next, me next." It was time like this Yuki didn't know what to make of his family, yes he loved them, but he couldn't understand just why they did things like that. But before he could say anything about what they were doing, like he really wanted to, Yuki heard Kagome state something that caused his head to shoot up and face in her direction.

"Inuyasha did you see that…that hair is moving." Yuki hearing this quickly looked to see where Kagome was staring and seeing a long black hair moving around Inuyasha's arm similar to how a weaponized wire would couldn't help but stare at it as well.

A stare that got just that much worse when he realized that despite the fact that both he and Kagome could see the hair no one else seemed to see it; or even feel in moving around in Inuyasha's case. Something that got the building dread in Yuki's stomach, to go icy cold and remember the feeling that he had gotten before he had gone back through the well with Kagome. Remembering the feeling that felt like something Predatorial was watching them as they had left.

A feeing that go just that much worse when Kagome seemed to come to a realization and run out of the house. Seeing this, both Yuki and Inuyasha following close behind her as she did this. Which was how the three of the ended up in the well house, the door closed tightly behind them fighting some sort of magical hair that only Kagome and Yuki seemed to see.

Though Yuki was rather happy to note that because of the training they had gone though, however little it ended up being for Kagome, it wasn't going as bad as it could have been. Seeing as Kagome could call on her powers when the hair got to close and could more easily directed Inuyasha where the other hair was attacking from; as she more gracefully dodged out of the way of the still attacking hair.

While Yuki on the other hand, because of the close questers and the fact he didn't want to hit either Kagome or Inuyasha with his blade, had to fight with a more hands on approach. Though he did channel his icy magic into his fingers to give them more of an edge as he graceful danced between the hair freezing said hair before shattering it to pieces.

But no matter how much he or Inuyasha seemed to cut it seemed more and more hair continued to come back. Something that continued until Kagome her hands glowing with her Miko powers was able to snap what Yuki could now see was the hair that seemed to act as the puppet string to all the other hair that was coming out of the well. Causing all the hair to fall to the ground and start to disintegrate.

Seeing this and knowing the danger that their family could now be in both Yuki and Kagome stared at each other. It looked like now, they really didn't have a choice in the matter they had to go back and see just who had decided to attack them with hair of all things.

Knowing this, Yuki called on his magic to summon the two bags he had packed up to him, and after ignoring Inuyasha's started cursing as the bag flew towards them; caught them. Before he jumped with his sister through the well; seeing the red form of Inuyasha following right after them.

It seemed it was now back to the Feudal Era for all of them, and back to whatever was attacking them. With that someone or something going to pay dearly for ever daring to attack what was his; that was something Yuki swore as the well's bright blue light covered him.
