Welcome Home

***********************

Earth was still very foreign to Spock. It seemed as though he would never get used to it no matter how long he stayed there for. But with Vulcan gone he had no place left...no home left. The only times he felt remotely at home was when he was with—

"Spock, come back to bed." A sleepy Jim Kirk murmured into his pointed ear and nuzzled at his pale neck. The half Vulcan relaxed into those cool arms that encircled him, pulled him away from those depressing thoughts.

"I assumed you would awake much later, Jim." Spock said. The blonde just chuckled thickly and replied, "Well I would have if you had stayed next to me. It's easy to tell when you leave." A hand splayed out over his bare stomach, cool fingers stroking the hotter than normal skin there. Jim continued to nuzzle and lightly kiss at Spock's neck, teasing and enticing him.

"It's our last day on shore leave, Spock. C'mon I wanna spend as much time with you as possible." The young captain nearly whined. A swift quirk of his lips betrayed Spock's amusement at his lover's tone, but he allowed Jim to lead him back to their room. The bed was a little cold but neither cared as they curled up close to each other. Hands linked together and their fingers stroked against each other's palms slowly and soothingly.

"I've missed my girl; it's almost hard to take shore leave sometimes." Kirk said with a laugh. He really was attached to his ship, The Enterprise was as important to him as Spock was. The Vulcan lifted a dark eyebrow as his brown eyes glittered with fond amusement and affection.

"Indeed." He replied naturally. Jim grinned and leaned in to steal a kiss, lips brushing lightly over Spock's. The elder male contentedly leaned in closer, his lips and fingers kissing Jim in both a human and Vulcan way. Kirk pulled back with a smile as he said, "You miss her too, don't you Spock." The half Vulcan just gazed at him for a few moments then leaned in and promptly sealed their mouths together.

"God, it's good to be home." Jim beamed widely as he stretched, looking over at his first officer. Spock regarded him calmly and almost indifferently, surveying the empty bridge. The other crew members would be showing up soon. Jim reached out and Spock's hand met his half way, their fingers interlocking intimately. They stood close, shoulders touching and warmth bubbling through them.

"Welcome home, Spock." Kirk said. His smile was loving and at that moment Spock knew that here, abroad the Enterprise and with Jim it truly -was- home. His lips quirked in a half smile and their hands squeezed together gently. He belonged. He was home.
