Eden

Vekta was Eden. And it was over this paradise that Stuart Adams resided.

On Eden, over Eden, below Eden…it was all in the same in the end. A paradise amongst the wasteland of space, bathed in the benevolent glow of Alpha Centuari, Lord of galactic heavens on high. Above Eden the walls of Heaven stood tall against the baleful glow of the system's second star, around which stood the world of Helghan, the wasteland outside Alpha's domain. Never again would Eden be despoiled by those who defied the lords of Terra, who rejected their words. Eden was paradise and would not suffer their touch.

Yet Adams, first among Man of the world of Eden, wanted more.

Those of Terra would discover Adams' fall too late, of his divergence from their will and that of Centauri. Whether he contacted the serpent named Visari first or temptation came to him would not be known. And in the end, it didn't matter. For the serpent was temptation and Adams was only too willing to give into it. In exchange for power, Adams would not only grant Terra's enemies the fruit of forbidden knowledge, but consume the fruit himself. He would use this knowledge to cripple Eden's defenses and leave it open to temptation.

Thus the kin of the serpent travelled across Heaven, defying all galactic angels that stood before them. Too late did those of Eden realize that their outer defenses had failed them and that their world lay open to despoilers. Too late did Adams' partner realize the treachery of the lords' favored, having sided with Helghan and temptation. Too late did those who remained on Eden discovered this, their world's own defenses turned against them, cutting them off from those who might journey from Earth across Heaven to aid them.

Yet even then there were those who defied temptation. Those who would not see Eden despoiled by the sins of one of their own. One of Templar by name and profession, those who did not answer to the lords of Terra were defeated. Led by the templar, four of the faithful thus journeyed to that which prevented them from reaching Heaven. After a long, final battle, Adams was defeated, his connection with the serpent severed. And with this act, Eden was once again open to its lords.

All that remained was to cut off the serpent's head…

A/N

I doubt it was intentional on the developers' part, but I've noticed a similarity between the events of Killzone and that of Biblical myth. We have the verdant world of Vekta (Eden) watched over by General Adams (Adam) who throws in his lot for Visari (the serpent) for reasons that are mostly, if not completely self-serving in nature (temptation). Not a perfect analogy of course, but one that inspired this oneshot.
