Insanity/Redemption
Maze says: I lied. But I could not ignore the...general unhappiness you guys felt. Here is my very late apology.
If anyone wants to know, I have a tumblr: Mazepuppet. It has answers to questions that have been asked in reviews.
The world...that was...could no longer be.
He recognized that fact. Recognized it, and it tore him apart.
But he could not cry, nor rant, nor beg for a return.
She...had been his light. A light, bright enough to chase away the fear and the darkness.
The cruel, cold world
snuffed it out
as easily as blowing out a candle.
The world that was...could no longer be.
But recognition did not make it better, and he swore to tear the world apart to find his heart.
His little heart...the pieces of him and her...that they had so carefully put together.
Held briefly in reverent hands.
Taken from him. Ripped out of his life.
And God damned the world that was
as it could not be.
Just as surely as he had damned himself. His happiness. Her life. And that little heart-beat.
In his brief life of misery
those moments of light and love
stood out against the darkness like a scream in the silence.
And scream he did.
And rage he did.
Damn the world.
Damn the God that saw fit to cast his life, his happiness into the abyss.
He would fight...he would take back what was his.
His heart. His love.
Damn the Order, Damn the Noah
he vowed.
He would see them crumble beneath the sole of his boot.
And he would forge his own world in blood and sweat and rage
and love and light and
- curse his white-haired lover for being right -
and hope.
Without a backward glance
without a regret or a second thought
he went to find his heart.
.
.
.
.
.
And found her.
His knees could not bear the weight of his relief.
That thrice-cursed red-haired man
- he could not speak the name -
said nothing as he pulled his daughter into his arms.
"My heart...my light..."
the words fell like weights from his mouth
"Daddy?" she asks
his breath is stolen
"Are we going to find mommy now?"
he nods now, speechless
"I can save her daddy...I feel it."
he stares, he knows her power, her God-forsaken Innocence
Her beautiful eyes are closed, she touches his face with tiny hands
"I always feel her..."
he cannot deny it...the hope, the rising feeling
his light, his love...his little heart.
Her smile, a soft and striking echo of that oh-so familiar and precious one.
"Come, Daddy. Let's fight together."
Issho ni tatakai, he agreed.
The world...that was...could not be.
But his world would be.
