Dustfinger was walking down the street when Christian was hanging out with Lissa at the park.
"You shouldn't do that in a public park, Christian." Rose told him.
Christian made little balls of fire apper in his hands and then sent them flying but right before they hit Rose he drew them back. "You know I hate it when you do that." Rose said.
"I know and that's why I keep doing it." Christian told her.
"Well, you can do stuff with fire?" Dustfinger asked.
"Yes," Christian said.
Rose was ready to attack at any moment. She had a growl ready to come out, she couldn't hold it back any longer. It came out very long and deep. Dustfinger's head snapped around to look at her.
"I'm not here to hurt him. I just want to talk to the poor guy. No need to attack." Dustfinger told Rose who was still not sure on the whole idea. She stayed down in her attack mode. "Okay, I'll back up. Does that help?" Dustfinger asked.
"Just leave!" Rose growled.
"Rose? You don't need to I'd like to hear what he has to say." Christian said.
"He can play with fire too!" Rose said.
"Wait how do you know this?" Lissa butted in.
"His name is Dustfinger. He came from a book. A guy named Silvertounge read him out of the book." Rose said.
"Wait you've read Inkheart?" Dustfinger asked.
"Yes," Rose hissed at him.
"Wait Rose read a book?" Christian asked in disbelief.
"Yes, I just never told you. The series was good but just not that great." Rose said.
"Well I don't care. I just want to ask a few questions to this Christian." Dustfinger said.
"Fine, but if you hurt him I get to rip your head off." Rose said.
"Okay, that seems fair." Rose and Lissa stared at them waiting for Dustfinger to ask away. "Alone please."
"No!" Rose hissed and started running.
"Rose!" Lissa hissed running in front of Dustfinger and grabbing Rose with her hands. "Let's leave them alone and go for a walk. I'd like to talk to you anyways." Lissa said.
Rose had her eyes on Dustfingers face still when Lissa started to pull her away and right before they went onto the narrow path in the dark deep woods Rose's head whipped around and she hissed on last time.
"What's gotten into you?" Lissa dammanded.
"Nothing!" Rose said.
"This isn't nothing Rose." Lissa said.
Rose was being protective of something more than just Lissa and Christian it was what was in her stomach. Yes, Rose was pregnant. But neither Lissa or Christian new about it. She still didn't know if it was Adrian's or Dimitri's. She thinks it's Adrian but she doesn't know for sure.
Right then the baby kicked. Her hands flew swiftly to her stomach.
"Your pregnant!" Lissa cheered jumping up and down.
"Could you've said that any louder?" Rose hissed.
"Stop being so moody!" Lissa yelled.
"I'm sorry but your the only other one that knows about this. The only other person is Adrian. And he's in the hospital." Rose said.
