And the rewriting process has begun! Welcome everybody to the grown-up version of A Musician's Romance :) I realize there are a lot of loopholes in the current plot, so I'm changing some parts, but most of it is going to stay the same, just worded differently because HAVE YOU SEEN THE VOCABULARY I USED WHEN I WAS THIRTEEN? It's horrible, truly.

Anyway...

Enjoy!

Prologue

It was too damn cold. I kept my eyes closed, trying to go back into the sweet abyss that is otherwise known as sleep.

But my alarm clock had other ideas.

Begrudgingly, I opened my eyes and quickly realized why it was so cold. The window was open. And it was the middle of autumn. I wanted to slap myself. Of all the things to forget, I forgot to close the window last night.

I glared at the window, as if glaring at the inanimate object would somehow make it cower in fear. Sighing, I got up from my bed (a difficult task, truly), and decided to just get ready for another day in Hell.

Also known as high school.

My phone beeped, notifying me of the text I just received. As I unlocked it, I couldn't help but smile slightly. There was only one person who could do that, and she was mine.

It's too cold :( She sent.

I smirked as I came up with my reply. Let me warm you up later.

I don't know whether to smile or be grossed out.

My smile widened. I loved it when she challenged me. I'm pretty sure you won't be grossed out later when my arms are around you ;)

Cheesy, as always, Uchiha.

Don't pretend you don't love it, beautiful.

...Maybe a little.

Maybe a lot. I'll pick you up in fifteen.

With that, I put my phone down and got ready for school, suddenly wanting to get in my car as quickly as possible.

Within ten minutes, I had my keys in my hand, about to leave when my brother stopped me. My eye twitched out of irritation. "What, Itachi?"

"Your lunch money," He handed me a twenty.

"Thanks," I muttered as I nearly ran down the stairs. My eagerness to leave seemed to amuse Itachi as he laughed, shook his head, and went back inside the apartment.

With my key in the engine in minutes, I drove to my girl's place.

I got out of my car when I reached her house, refusing to honk my car at her to let her know that I was there. Instead, I knocked on her door and waited patiently.

Her mother opened the door with a smile on her face. "Sasuke, come in."

"Thanks," I said softly, walking into their home. My ears picked up someone running upstairs, a couple doors slamming, and a squeak. I worked hard to stifle my smirk, but it was no use.

Her mother shook her head. "That girl, I'll never understand where she got her clumsiness from." Turning to me, she beckoned me into the kitchen. "Come on, Sasuke, you can wait in the kitchen while she gets ready."

"I'm ready, mom! Ah!" Thank God for fast reflexes. I caught her before she fell down the stairs again. "Hi," she breathed, her green eyes staring into my black eyes.

"Hi," I smirked as I took in our position. "You plan on standing straight anytime soon?"

I loved the blush that coated her cheeks. Scrambling, she straightened, looking at her mother, who was grinning slyly in the corner. "We're going now, mom. Bye!"

"Bye, sweetheart! Bye, Sasuke!"

I waved. Sakura grabbed my hand and pulled me out of her house. The moment we got out, I pulled her to me and quickly pecked her on the lips. "Morning, beautiful."

The blush covered her cheeks again. "Good morning," She wrapped an arm around my torso and snuggled her head into the side of my chest.

She was like a kitten. "Comfy?" She nodded, and smiled in content.

"Let's get to school before we're late," I said, leading her to my car. As I drove to the school, I reached across the gear shift and took her hand in mine, wincing at her cold fingers. "You weren't kidding about you feeling cold."

She grinned at me. "I told you so."

I smirked, keeping my eyes on the road. "Just gives me the opportunity to do this," Before she could probe me, I brought her hand to my lips and blew a warm breath into it. She shuddered and my cheeky smirk grew, knowing she wasn't shuddering from the cold.

As we stopped at a red light, I glanced at her hearing aid. "Does it get affected by the cold?"

She smiled slightly and shook her head. "No, Tsunade made sure to make it weather-proof."

"Good," He said before placing his eyes back on the road when the light turned green.

From the corner of his eye, she twitched and played with her hands, a sign of her nerves. "Does it bother you?" She quietly asked.

"Does what bother me?"

"Me being deaf," she whispered, her eyes downcast.

"Why would it bother me?" I was honestly perplexed at her question.

"Because I always need to wear this thing," she flicked her hearing aid. "In order to just hear your voice properly. Isn't it annoying?"

I decided to park in front of the school first before answering her. "First off, you're not deaf, not really. You have hearing loss, and only on one of your ears. And secondly, that thing," I imitated her and flicked her ear playfully. "Helps you. If it helps you, then I don't see what the problem is. Finally," My quick hands removed her seatbelt and placed her on my lap in under ten seconds. "I love you. You, okay? I'm not dating the inanimate object in your ear, I'm dating you. And it just so happens that you're an amazing person." I placed my forehead against hers. "Get it?"

"Got it," she closed the distance between us and captured my lips with hers. I'd never tell her that she made me feel alive whenever she kissed me, that I always reminded myself how lucky I was to have her.

And I refused to let her go.
