A little drabble for the season. Have fun!

It's the season

Articuno stepped out of her cave, and stretched her wings. It was almost that day of the year again, and she'd better get going. With a short hop, she was in the air, off to spread the weather fitting for the season. But first, she'd go visit an old friend.

Somewhere to the north, a man is gathering his Stantler, after letting them out for the morning. Seeing a shadow flying in over the snow, he looks up and smiles as he recognizes who cast it. Landing a short distance from the man, Articuno greets him.

"Hello, Nick, how are you?" she asks.

"Very good, thank you. And you, Articuno?" Nick replies.

"Good as always. How are your preparations going?" the bird wonders.

"Just great. We're right according to schedule, and I'm leaving right on time. Can we count on snow for the next few days?" he asks with a wink.

"I was about to leave for the south, and decided to drop by." Articuno answers.

"Well, then, I'll see what your work ended up like , and maybe I'll see you tonight. Take care." the man nods.

"Thanks. You as well, Nick." Spreading her great wings, she takes off with a single flap, and heads south. Approaching her first destination, she begins to descent while above Snowpoint City, and swoops down south, arriving over Eternia City a few minutes later. Gathering up her energy, Articuno strikes the clouds, triggering a snowfall. Snowflakes begin to gather in the air, and fall down upon the city. People outside begin to gather to watch the falling snow, and the earth slowly begins to turn white. Satisfied with the falling snow, Articuno leaves for the other cities of Sinnoh.

When Sinnoh was covered in snowfall, she left for the south, for Kanto. Soon, the towers of Goldenrod, the fields of Pallet, and even the volcano of Cinnabar were starting to feel the touch of winter. Traveling into the west, the cities of Johto felt the cold as well, and Articuno slowed down to throw down a big pack of snow on the Whirl islands for Lugia. Next leaving for the south-west, it took Articuno more effort than usual to start a proper snowfall there due to the higher temperatures, but in the end, almost everywhere from Dewfort Town to Fortree City was covered in show.

After short trips to Orre, Fiore and Almia, Articuno decided that she was done. Setting out back for the north, she went to visit Nick. Setting down on the roof of his home just after sunset, he was guiding his Stantler outside, drawing a heavy sled with a big sack in the back with it. Nick himself was dressed in a heavy red coat with white fur lines, and spotted matching trousers and a similar hat.

"Ah, Articuno. I see that you are done?" Nick asks her.

"I am. And you are about to leave?" Articuno replied.

"Correct. I'd expected you to take a little longer to travel the entire world." the man answers, inspecting the sled.

"I'm very good at what I'd do, yet traveling the entire world in one day, it's almost as if I used… magic." she winks at Nick.

Nick laughs his trademark short, jolly laugh, and gets into the sled. "Well then, I hope I can use some of it to get my job done today."

"I hope so. Good luck, Nick." she nods at him.

"Thank you, Articuno, but please, for tonight I am not Nick, but Santa." pulling the reins on the reindeer, causing them to start moving, and taking off. As they pull the sled into the night, Articuno can hear the laughter of Santa echo in the distance.

"Merry Christmas to you, Articuno, and to all Legendaries, Pokemon, and people on Earth!"

And that's it for tonight, merry Christmas to all!
