You Take All of Me
Author's Note: here is my first shot at a Carlisle and Esme pairing. They're my current favorite, and I hope you guys enjoy this. I wrote this last December 12th, during my sixteenth birthday. :) please review after! Go Team Carlisle!! –HÜ
Disclaimer: no, I don't own the Twilight characters, just the plot. But Carlisle is MINE!
"I'm glad Edward finally found his soul mate," I murmured softly against Carlisle's chest. He was reading a thick medical textbook while we reclined in our bed (again, another prop as we kept up our charade as humans). "Hmm? Why is that?" he asked.
"He will finally experience firsthand how powerful an emotion love can be," I smiled, remembering the precious moments that I had spent with my husband. Every kiss and sincere loving word spoken to me by Carlisle was still etched into my timeless memory—and it will be forever there.
"Yes, I agree. Now he couldn't blame us for what we do as husband and wife," he chuckled softly. The sound was melodic, even to my ears. Carlisle put his book down and adjusted our position so that I was sitting on his lap as he cradled me in his strong arms.
"Esme, do you remember the day I proposed to you?" Carlisle asked. I nodded, my eyes transfixed on his own golden ones. "I was…very scared that day. I knew what I was going to do, and I was afraid that you won't accept, knowing me for only a few months. Edward knew everything. But he was kind enough not to reveal what I was truly feeling at that time."
My face broke into a huge smile. Sometimes my husband could be so dense. "Carlisle, you didn't actually think anyone can resist you, did you?" I laughed. "It took me a while to answer you because believe it or not, my breathing had actually stopped altogether when you popped the question."
"Really? Why hadn't I noticed that before?" he mused.
"You were too busy worrying, that's why!" I poked his chest lightly. Suddenly, he drew my face to his and whispered, "I'm glad I popped the question, then." His breath was cool and sweet against my face.
"And why is that?" I breathed, trying hard not to let him intimidate me. I tried without much luck.
"Because I finally made a woman's breathing—if not her heart beat—stop because of words," he murmured ever so softly against my mouth. I didn't fail to notice the slight emphasis on the last word, though. "Carlisle, darling, you do that to every woman you meet—vampire and human alike," I frowned at him, puzzled by his logic.
"Yes, but the only woman I care doing that to is you." Carlisle never gave me a chance to answer because at that moment, he had closed the distance between us and captured me into his mouth and sent me melting into his form.
This was the man who took my breath and my whole heart with him—and it will be forever his.
A/N: Happy Christmas to everyone! My first Christmas writing a story for FanFiction…wow. :D please leave a review! Thank you.
