Title: Why Tezuka Assigns Laps

Pairing: Tezuka/Fuji

Genre: Humor

Disclaimer: Me no own...which might be a good thing, cuz I'd probably screw the series up ^^

A/N: This might seem familiar to some of you...it's cuz I uploaded it before but took it down. So here it is again.

Momoshiro was messing around with the first years.

"Momoshiro! 20 laps!"

"AGH!"

Someone was choking on Inui juice.

"Inui! 20 laps!"

"Tezuka is 12% more agitated than usual…"

Eiji was…walking across the top of the net?

"Kikumaru! 20 laps and get off before you rip it!"

"Nya?!"

Kaidoh was hissing and scaring Kachiro and Katsuo.

"Kaidoh! 20 laps!"

"Fshuuu…"

Taka-san was whacking the fence surrounding the courts with his racket.

"Kawamura! 20 laps!"

"BURNING!"

Oishi was home sick today so…

Tezuka turned to Ryoma who was sitting on the bench.

"Echizen, 20 laps."

"………HUH?"

Fuji was poking a caterpillar that had crawled onto the courts.

"Fuji, get away from that. It might bite you."

"NOT FAIR!" the rest of the regulars shouted as they passed by.

Fuji smiled and walked towards Tezuka's side. "Hai, Tezuka."

While the pair stood peaceful and oblivious (Tezuka did, at least), the running players were discussing the reason for Tezuka's sudden barrage of laps.

"Yesterday was Valentine's Day," Inui recited from his data book (Momo wondered how he ran while reading). "Fuji received 93 boxes of chocolate, 75 love letters, and 28 love confessions."

"Yeah, but why would buchou be sad about that?" Echizen asked. "Weren't they…doing stuff after practice?"

Ah, yes. The team had learned the hard way that when there were questionable noises coming out of the clubroom to pretend you didn't hear them, pick up your things, and go home. Their belongings in the changing rooms could wait until tomorrow.

"Why don't we just ask Fujiko?" Eiji suggested.

After they had finished their laps, they inconspicuously (to them, at least—everyone else stared at the large bundle of boys waving their hands like they were having spasms) gestured for the tensai to come over. Deciding to humor them, he did.

"What is it?" he asked, smiling and tilting his head in just the way fangirls loved.

"Um, Fuji-senpai, do you know why Tezuka-buchou is being such a—" Fuji opened his eyes warningly. "—uh, um…strict today?"

"Saa..." Fuji smiled, reverting back to his smiling form.

"Tezuka is being so cruel today, nya," Eiji said, resting his arm on Echizen's head.

"Really?"

"And I didn't do anything either…" Ryoma mumbled and tipped his cap forward.

"Hmm…"

"Yeah…was it bad sushi yesterday? Did that give Tezuka a stomachache or something…?"

"I don't think that was it, Taka-san."

"So, Fuji, do you know why Tezuka is 20% more annoyed and giving 24% more laps today?"

"Eh? What are you talking about?"

The team blinked. Fuji giggled and continued.

"Tezuka is very happy today."

It was then that the buchou noticed the absence of his favorite player on the team and saw the rest of the regulars whispering to him.

"Oi! Everyone, 20 laps! Fuji, get over here."

"EEEHHH?????"

And that day the regulars discovered that whether Tezuka was happy, sad, or angry, his reaction was the same—assign laps.

Seigaku seriously sucked sometimes.

Tezuka is so biased :)
