A Different Beginning

Chapter 54

Eliza's basestar

Kara and Lee were enjoying their morning together, after a long and magical night together.

It started with them looking into a large room and finding it resembling a small open meadow surrounded by a forest with mountains beyond them. The sun was just breaking over the mountains casting a soft glow in the room. If that didn't freak them out enough the floor was green like grass and had a blanket spread out with food, fruit and a couple of bottles of champagne on it.

They both had jumped back calling for Eliza.

When she got there she found them both peeking inside the room " What's wrong? "

Kara grabbed her " What is this? "

Eliza chuckled " Your honeymoon room "

Lee looked over her shoulder " How, did you do this, is it a projection? "

Eliza shrugged " I did ask the hybrid to try and make the room nice for humans " she looked at them " She had to have help, even this would be to much for a hybrid. I saw it when I fixed up the room "

Kara whispered " Aurora " she looked at Lee " Maybe Apollo to " she said pointing at the sun.

Lee shrugged " It does look like dawn, and the bed is on the floor of the meadow " he winked at her.

Kara rolled her eyes, then grabbed his hand " Okay we go in together "

Lee grinned and let her hand go " I have a better idea, thanks Eliza " then he swooped Kara up into his arms placing an arm each under her back and legs.

Kara let out a " Whoop " startled by his action.

Lee leaned down and kissed her cheek " It is tradition "

Eliza enjoyed watching these two " Let me know if you need something "

Lee glanced at her " Just privacy "

He then walked though the door " Blanket or bed? "

Kara glanced at both " Blanket first "

Lee chuckled and placed her on the blanket " Food and drink it is "

Kara looked around " Nice " she then looked up " Make yourself scarce Aurora "

Their night as husband and wife began, both not wanting to waist it by sleeping. They knew they would never have a place this nice again while in the fleet. They both agreed that when they found their new home they could find a place to build a house to live out their lives together.

They spent the night alternating between making love, eating and drinking champagne.

As they lay snuggled together the next morning the spell was broken when they heard a rap at the door.

Lee put on his robe and opened the door to find Eliza standing there " Commander Adama needs you both in the situation room now, I'm sorry "

Kara grumbled when she heard " I can't believe he couldn't wait a couple of hours "

Lee shrugged " It must be important " he bent down to kiss her deeply " We should at least grab a shower, I'm sure he can wait that long "

Kara crawled off the bed " I am glad someone thought to leave us some clothes "

Lee and Kara each gathered their cargo outfits and boots. Their shower took longer than it should have because they had yet to christen it as they had the rest of the room.

Galactica

Adama had spent the night before questioning the two people who showed up in the raptor, using the situation room again.

One happy to be there and the other demanding for the other to explain.

Adama asked the one who brought them here " Why are you here and where did you come from? "

The other exclaimed " The Pegasus and I was tricked then kidnapped "

The other sighed " Sir I will only speak to Starbuck and Apollo "

Adama nodded " The brig it is then, but can you tell me how you know them? "

There was a nod " I know Starbuck from the academy and Apollo only by reputation "

Adama thought it could be related to Kara's situation " Fine, but they won't be available until morning. At least explain to me why you left the Pegagus and are they coming here also "

Both dropped their heads, but the one spoke " First I have a reason for the kidnapping, I think, Starbuck might know " there was a long sigh " Second you don't want the Pegagus and especially Cain involved in your fleet. I will explain the rest when I speak to Apollo and Starbuck "

He got up to get the marine it had been a long day and night and he knew that was all the information he would be getting " Take them to the brig for the night "

One stopped and whispered " I don't think the Lt. should be in the meeting in the morning, I don't understand why, but I know it has to be that way, sir "

Adama nodded, he was sure that this had to be about Kara and possibly Lee. Before they left he spoke with Gaeta telling him to explain what was happening in the fleet to the Lt. tomorrow. He then pulled said Lt. aside " Lt. do not speak to anyone about how you came to be here, understood? "

The Lt. stood there still confused " Yes sir, I just hope one day someone will explain it to me "

Adama smirked " Lt. one day soon almost all of this will be told to everyone "

Adama motioned Boomer over " You need to go with the marines now "

Boomer walked over " I suggest we all get some sleep Boomer, tomorrow is going to be another long day "

Situation Room

Kara and Lee passed through the CIC noticing someone new standing by Gaeta then entered the situation room.

Lee noticed his dad standing to the side watching Kara when she came in.

Kara gasped " Oh my gods, Showboat I thought you were dead "

Showboat went and hugged her whispering quickly in her ear " Kara I am here because I know about you and Apollo, but I didn't say anything to the Commander "

Kara pulled back and looked at her, Showboat nodded " It's true Kara "

Kara nodded " The Commander knows everything, so you can speak in front of him " she turned around " Guys this is Marcie Case or Showboat we went through the academy together, she has things to tell us and I suspect we will also "

Adama walked forward " Thank gods, she wouldn't say anything until she talked to you two first "

Lee went to shake her hand noticing Kara still held her other one or maybe she was holding onto Kara " Hey Showboat, I am Apollo, welcome "

Showboat smirked " I know who you are "

Kara had a funny feeling " Let's sit, so you can tell us everything "

Before Lee sat he asked " Should I call for Boomer to join us? "

Showboat looked at Kara " I don't think you will want anyone else involved right now, you can decide after "

Lee sat down.

She was sitting by Kara so she turned and took Kara's hand back " Remember at the Academy how we would sneak off and go to Temple? " Kara nodded " I would pray to Aurora and you to Artemis and Aphrodite? " Kara nodded again and Marcie chuckled " Gods, we were so wrong "

Kara was sure she knew something " Tell us what you know Marcie " Kara squeezed her hand and let go.

Marcie stood up pacing " A month ago I went to temple on the Pegagus to pray, there are so many things wrong on that battlestar " she shivered " I was asking Aurora for guidance " she stopped to look at Lee " When the god Apollo showed up in his true form, and scared the frak out of me, he waited until I calmed down, then told me some things "

Lee hung his head " Frak "

Kara smirked.

Adama asked " What things, Showboat? "

Showboat sat back down " About Kara and Aurora, and that I was Apollo's guide "

Kara giggled " Shut up Kara it's not funny " he looked at Showboat " If what you say is true you aren't allowed to call me Apollo, use my rank when on duty and Lee when it concerns the other "

Adama looked at her " I noticed last night that you are a captain, do you mind explaining? "

Marcie frowned " It's a long story, but I'll sum it up for now. I am a viper pilot and was a Lt. until I was promoted to Cag after Captain Taylor was demoted when he did something Cain didn't like "

Adama would get into that later " Who did you kidnap and why? "

Kara and Lee's heads shot to her " Apollo told me I had to, he is Lt. Hoshi our jump specialist, but I don't know why I had to bring him "

The others gasped and looked at each other. Kara stood up " Frak, frak, frak "

Marcie exclaimed " What? "

Kara shook her head " Apollo would have told you if he wanted you to know, it's nothing for you to worry about Showboat "

Marcie had a question " Who is your guide Kara? "

Lee chuckled " A cylon "

Marcie stood back up " My gods, why? "

Kara shrugged " She sat on the prayer rug in the temple on Delphi and Aurora chose her. I was kidnapped by a crazy cylon and tortured and ended up with several cylons rescuing me and they helped get me off Caprica " Kara paused " We have two of the same models on this ship, but Boomer is special to me "

Adama added " Me also, she is our connection to a cylon mole we used, but Caprica's basestar is one of the three with the fleet "

Marcie looked at Kara " I saw her in the CIC last night. She hung around Helo at the academy sometimes, did he survive Kara? "

Kara nodded " Yeah, he is here. While we were on Caprica Helo fell in love with and got a copy of Boomer pregnant, we call her Athena "

Marcie gasped " My gods they can get pregnant? "

Kara grinned " Only if they truly love a human "

Apollo had told her about the cylons with the fleet. Which is why she wasn't startled when she saw their basestars, but she didn't know that. She looked at Captain Adama " Lee, I am supposed to fly your wing on a mission you are leading "

Kara got in her face " Why, what is going to happen? "

Marcie took a step back " Not sure, Apollo told me to and made sure I got here before the mission "

Kara turned on Adama " I will be with them "

They all shouted " No " in unison

Kara let it go for now.

Marcie explained " That is why Apollo sent me, I was told you could not fly the mission at all "

Lee saw the determined look Kara had and went and hugged her whispering " Kara you know Aurora has a reason for you not going " he then pulled back to find Showboat looking at them. Lee held out their ring hands " Kara and I got married yesterday "

Marcie went to look at their rings and chuckled " Kara and I used to talk about you at the academy. The mighty Apollo, especially when she broke most of your sim records, and now the two of you are married " she paused thinking " Your gods had bonded you before you were born, I find it frakking ironic, congratulations "

Lee gave her a pointed look " That subject is off limits and what kind of guide or you anyway? "

Kara snorted " She can't be as bad as Willow, her and Aurora are always doing things without consulting me " like the mission she thought.

Adama had to be sure " Did you maybe bring Hoshi to jump you here? "

Showboat sat down as did the others " No, Apollo put the coordinates into the raptors jump drive, it jumped us here by itself. Hoshi was freaking out and now we have to explain this to him somehow, any ideas? "

Kara thought " Just tell him you don't know and we can act like we checked it out and just tell him something took control of the raptor "

Adama sighed and thought again that they were both too good at lying. He knew Hoshi had to be one of the final five, so that makes two they know of now.

Marcie nodded " He will buy it since I kept screaming that I had no frakking idea what was wrong with the raptor "

Kara asked " What does Apollo look like? "

Marcie closed her eyes and smiled before opening them " Drop dead gorgeous with the bluest eyes I have ever seen, a tanned honed body covered in white robes and bathed in a sunny glow " she looked at Lee " You favor him, but I would mate with him given the opportunity "

Kara gasped " You don't like men "

Marcie grinned " True, but I have never looked upon someone so, gods I can't even describe it "

Lee butted in " I know, because Aurora was so beautiful she took my breath away "

Kara hit him hard " Don't even think about her like that again " she looked at Marcie " Any chance I can meet Apollo? "

Lee shoved her " No way " she shoved back " You got to see Aurora "

Adama stopped them " Enough, as I understand it those two are together and you must know humans and gods don't get together "

Kara and Marcie giggled.

Lee grabbed Kara's arm " What do you two know that we don't? "

Kara stopped giggling " Gods take human form and mate with human women. That is one of the ways a prophecy can be fulfilled, also another is children that are born from such a union are called demi-gods in some beliefs "

Lee gasped " Oh my gods, could there any in the fleet? "

Marcie chuckled " No, that hasn't happened in thousands of years, but it is possible" she paused " Since you are both chosen I wonder what your children will be like? "

Lee looked at her " I suggest you ask Apollo that question " he looked at Kara " I wouldn't mind us having a child one day "

Kara rolled her eyes " Don't worry Lee, I am pretty sure that is in the gods hands and there is nothing we can do about it "

Kara had thought about children she just hadn't brought it up with Lee

Adama asked " Tell us about the Pegagus and why they aren't coming "

Marcie explained what Cain did with the fleet they found, what she did to her XO and Cain's relationship with a woman whom she later found out was a cylon. How Cain let her be tortured and raped, then how she became CAG and used it as an excuse to get her and Hoshi into a raptor. She explained how she lied to Hoshi by saying they needed to check out some coordinates that could possibly lead to the Galactica, he couldn't tell Cain until they were sure.

Adama exclaimed " My gods what happened to Helena and will she be able to follow? "

Marcie swallowed " She changed when the war broke out, she leads her crew with fear. Apollo didn't want them to find you, so I left some fake coordinates in the CIC with Apollo's help, as I know nothing about jump coordinates "

Apollo had a scary thought " What if they find Kobol before we drop off humans and cylons? "

Kara shook her head " Neither Aurora or Apollo would let that happen "

Marcie smirked " Apollo's coordinates will take them to a desolate planet hidden behind a Nebula " she asked " Why are you leaving people? "

Adama explained in detail.

Marcie gasped " Why can't they just accept to follow you if not Aurora? "

Kara and Lee spoke as one " Pythia "

Marcie knew they had been dealing with it, so she let it go " Commander how will you explain us being here? "

Adama sighed " The story we will use is that you were checking out coordinates for the Pegagus and got lost, then found us "

Marcie asked " You need to be sure Hoshi doesn't say otherwise, sir "

Adama snorted " That is why I pulled him aside last night "

Adama added " Now get something to eat and put on your dress blues after, we have a meeting in the War Room for the mission " he got up " Kara find Captain Case a bunk in the senior bunk room " he looked at Showboat " You can't tell anyone what you know, Kara and Lee will fill you in on who knows what "

Sitting at a table in the mess they told her what Kara went through on Caprica, the cylon alliance, President Roslin, Mark Rivers and who all knew about Kara being Aurora's chosen one and who knew about Lee. Then about the hybrids and the collapsed cylons and after the mission leaving humans and cylons on Kobol.

Marcie gasped " Starbuck I am so sorry about Caprica, but do you really trust the cylon leaders that much? "

Kara and Lee nodded " We do and so does the Admiral, Aurora and Apollo "

Keeper came over " Who is this? "

Lee explained " This is Showboat a viper pilot from the Pegagus, she and Lt. Hoshi got lost scouting coordinates for Admiral Cain and luckily they found us before they ran out of fuel "

Kara added " Pass it along Keeper "

Keeper asked " So Showboat who will you follow? "

Showboat smiled a crooked grin and looked up at him " The only one who knows where the frak we are going, Aurora. What about you Keeper? "

Keeper smirked and looked at Apollo and Starbuck " Them and the Commander, I'm not a believer "

Lee added " Could you keep an eye on anyone who might cause problems? "

Keeper shrugged " Sure, but so far everyone seems to be okay with all of it " he grinned " Congratulations even though I did lose cubits to Corporal Venner "

Kara snorted " Are you and Kat going to tie the knot next? "

Keeper turned to leave " It is none of your business Starbuck and leave Kat alone "

War Room

Adama, Tigh, Kara, Showboat, Lee, Mark, Athena, Helo, Racetrack and Boomer were waiting on Natalie, Caprica and Eliza.

Kara had introduced Showboat to Mark, Athena and Racetrack, she could tell Marcie was nervous being around twin copies of the same model. Kara pulled Boomer and Showboat aside without Helo whom Showboat knew from the academy " Boomer this is Apollo's guide that is the real reason she showed up " she looked at Showboat " There will be another copy of Boomer in the meeting besides Athena along with two number six models, trust me they are on our side. Also very few people know about Lee, so don't say anything "

Showboat smirked " I remember you from the academy "

Boomer nodded " I know, which is why I didn't mention it to the Commander when I saw you last night. I knew you and Starbuck were friends and there had to be a reason for you showing up "

Kara snorted " I'm shocked since you practically run the Galactica "

Boomer sighed " Kara I told you that you come first above everyone else, now quit having me remind you "

Kara gave her a lazy salute " Yes sir Lt. " she grinned.

Boomer changed the topic " Starbuck why not tell the ones who know about you, about Lee? "

Kara shrugged " Lee doesn't want to many people to know "

Showboat added " It makes sense, if they know about him and it got out they could easily connect you to Aurora "

Kara snorted " You two have something in common " they looked at her with raised eyebrows " Boomer watches my back and you now watch over Lee "

Kara left them talking with each other.

On the table Lee was looking at representations of the Galactica, two basestars, raiders and vipers on one side. While the other side had four basestars, four resurrection ships and the resurrection hub.

He looked at Athena who was across from " Who made these? " he asked holding something resembling a basestar

Athena picked one up " Sam and the chief using pieces of metal " she twisted it around " Not great, but you get the point " she laughed as she touched the speared points spreading outward from the mock basestar.

Lee rolled his eyes " Real funny Athena "

She shrugged " I thought it was "

Kara walked up while they were looking at each other " What are you two fooling around with? "

Lee put his down " Don't ask "

Athena told her anyway and Kara laughed " Good one Athena "

Most of the room walked up to the war table.

Kara asked as she shuffled the pieces around " What are we supposed to do with all these? "

Helo snorted " I thought you knew all about planning an op "

Kara gave him a frak you look " I do jackass when I have the information "

Adama cut in " Caprica has it, she is late because she is waiting on the last recons to get back "

They all looked at Boomer " They haven't told me anything "

Tigh spoke " Caprica has been sending out raiders for a couple of days. I only know because I was the one who cleared them to jump and Commander Adama knows also "

Boomer gasped " Why wasn't I told? "

Caprica, Natalie and Eliza walked in and caught the end of the conservation after leaving Venner and Mathis outside.

Caprica answered " Boomer we had a lot going on and didn't have time to fill you in, we didn't have much time to recon. We had to get as much information as we could in time for this meeting "

Adama pointed at the table " Can you two get us started? "

Caprica and Eliza walked up and placed the pieces by using their info.

First they placed the four basestars with the hub behind them.

Eliza spoke " Our raiders found the basestars like this. We also have the location of their resurrection ships a jump past the hub. "

After Caprica moved the resurrection ships she looked at them " We are certain the hybrids jumped the basestars close to the hub and are keeping them there along with their res ships. " she looked at Adama " Are you going and if so we can leave Natalie to protect the fleet, although I don't think the fleet will be in any danger? "

Adama nodded " The Galactica is going, I think we are going to need our raptors and vipers, but I am going to have to leave a military and command presence in the fleet "

Mark raised his hand " Billy and I will keep the Quorum updated "

Natalie spoke next " Colonel Tigh is welcome to use my basestar as a command center along with any military fighters you leave behind "

Kara interrupted " Why is this basestar so far away from the others and how are you so sure the hybrids did this? " she asked as she waved her hand across the table.

Caprica sighed " After the recon before this last one Eliza and I knew something didn't seem right. We talked and decided to take a risk "

Athena gasped " Please tell us you didn't do what I think you did? "

Boomer soon figured it out, but the rest of the room had no idea what was going on.

Natalie intervened " Athena is was worth it, let Caprica finish "

Caprica nodded at Natalie " We sent a six, an eight and a few centurions to this basestar " she picked up the one Kara asked about " It was after Eliza, Natalie and I jumped away from Caprica to help out Starbuck on the tyluim planet. A lot of the sixes and eights knew something was up so they gathered who they could and jumped away from Caprica. Right before we nuked Caprica a basestar showed up and we thought it was the ones, threes and or fives, so we assumed it was a rouge basestar. "

Eliza picked it up " Our copies boarded and found our sisters, that's how we know about the hybrids. They said the hybrid told the same story and with communications still up we know that the threes and the ones are the most upset. They are also trying to convince all the models that the hybrid is lying. Most of our sisters believe Cavil lied to us all, but the others have the fours which is going to be a problem. We also had our copies and centurions take the inhibitors from that basestar centurions "

Lee asked " How will this effect our mission? "

Kara placed their basestars and the Galactica in front of the three remaining basestars " We leave that basestar alone placing ours in front of the rest " she looked at Caprica " If we blow up their resurrection ships first will they know it? "

Caprica saw what she was planning " I don't think so, and even if they do they are unable to jump "

Kara nodded " Okay, so you're not for sure how the hybrids will react, let's assume they won't interfere, what will it take to blow them up? "

Lee looked around the room before speaking " I don't think Aurora will let them jump, so how do we do it? "

Eliza answered " We can send two raiders for each resurrection ship and to be safe they will need to take out the ftl first, at the same time we need to jump to the basestars and the hub "

Caprica added " We leave the hub alone until we are sure the fours, eights and sixes are not on it "

Showboat stepped up " Captain Adama, a few vipers and I will be ready for the three's basestar "

Kara moved to her side " Why, we can do this with the ships? " she demanded

Showboat shrugged and whispered " Part of the mission "

Kara started to leave the room " Captain Thrace this meeting isn't over "

She turned and looked at her Commander and with crossed arms she went to stand by Racetrack and whispered " I want you to stay close to Lee no matter what "

Adama started the meeting back " Okay, so we have the resurrections ships covered, we face off with the three basestars, there will be viper and raptors squadrons out there. What about your raiders, how many can you place with them? "

Caprica thought about it " The eight that jump back I am sending to the hub, they will try to save our models and box the others. Natalie has to keep her raiders with her, so between Eliza and myself we can send ten each. That will mean we have to send our centurions with the ones going to the hub. There will be centurions and rouge models on the hub "

Kara stated " This isn't going to work "

Helo snorted " It seems pretty simple to me Starbuck "

Kara rolled her eyes " Really? " she looked at Caprica " Tell me do their raiders have missiles like yours and if I'm not mistaken, so do the basestars and they have those cylon fighter raiders "

Caprica looked down before facing her " Yes their heavy raiders have missiles, the cylon fighters are controlled by the hybrid and so are the basestar missiles "

Lee knew what Kara meant " Without the hybrid, missiles can be manually overrode "

Eliza gasped " We have never had to do that "

Natalie covered her eyes " Oh my gods, the hybrid only controls the jump we always used the stream to fire the missiles "

Caprica shook her head " Only through the hybrid, she won't accept that command now "

Natalie touched a basestar " She won't need to, it's like Apollo said we can override her "

Athena went and pulled Kara away " We need Willow "

Kara shook her head " No way "

Athena grabbed her arm tighter " If we get in trouble Aurora can get the Hybrid to release a gas into the basestar, she controls the environment "

Showboat pulled Lee away at the same time " Lee I think this is why we have to be out there "

Lee was watching Kara and Athena " Okay " she was his guide, he was more concerned about Kara.

He left and went to Kara " What's going on? "

Athena told him

Lee grinned " Guys it's simple just ask Willow "

Kara pulled his ear hard close to her mouth " Simple my ass, Willow can't be placed in danger, but at least your guide is standing beside you. I swear if she doesn't bring you back safe I am going to kill her " she let go

Lee rubbed his ear " Frak Kara that hurt "

She smirked " Good "

Lee grabbed her hand " Where are you planning to be? "

Kara shrugged " I don't know yet "

Adama shouted " All of you get back over here "

Once every one was back. Natalie had been thinking before that " I think I need to send some of my raiders. My basestar can protect the fleet with a few raiders and it looks like this mission may be more trouble than we thought "

Helo nodded " I agree, but we may have another problem. What if in the confusion we can't tell our raiders from theirs? "

Kara threw up her hands " No offence, but this would be so much easier if we could just blow everything up "

Boomer had to agree with Kara " I hate to say it, but Captain Thrace is right "

Eliza raised her voice " We can't, our sisters and the fours are out there "

Adama sighed " We have to try. Starbuck, Showboat, Apollo, Caprica, Eliza and Boomer stay and try to come up with a plan, let me know when you have one. I hope it is soon we still have to brief the pilots and marines, one more thing no more than three basestars in this fleet "

He stopped Helo at the door " I need you and Corporal Tanner to see if the right people got off of the Prometheus. I have a mole over there keeping an eye on Zarek and Phelan, it is a deckhand you should recognize him. Get an update from him, also if they need more room send them to the Cassandra. Make sure Tyrol is checking those shuttles often "

Once outside Adama stopped Athena " I need you to check with Doc Cottle and find out if you can fly for this mission. Let me know soon. "

After speaking with Mark and Racetrack who then left to check on Roslin, Adama and Tigh walked to the CIC " Tigh I need to find a way to disable the Astral Queens weapons before we jump. Ask Gaeta and maybe Lt. Hoshi what we can do, if not I have another plan "

Tigh glanced at him " You think he will do something stupid? "

Adama nodded " Yes I do and if he tries something while I am gone blow him out of my sky "

Tigh stopped " Are you sure you want me to do that using a basestar? "

Adama sighed " Yes, knowing Zarek he would fire on the fleet or the basestar just to start a war and break our alliance "

War Room

After basically sticking to the plan and adding Natalie's seven raiders they all stopped talking and looked over it again.

Caprica wanted to try something " I want to try and talk with them or at least find out where the fours are "

Boomer had no idea how they would convince the new cylons or if they had the time " If that doesn't work we are going to blow them all up. After that we can try and save the ones you want off of the hub "

Eliza retorted " It seems like you don't care if we save our sisters or not "

Boomer placed her hands on her hips " There are three basestars out there full of cylons already and we are leaving humans on Kobol. As far as this mission goes the pilots who die out there can't be reborn, so excuse me if I want to protect what we already have "

Caprica placed a hand on Eliza's arm " Boomer's right, all we can do is try and if things get out of hand I will order the destruction myself, besides Willow said that we couldn't save them "

Eliza backed down " Can we at least save the ones on the other basestar? "

Kara finally spoke " Yes, but they will have to be transported to one of your basestars "

Lee hoped he didn't get them riled up again " Make sure they are separated from the others until we know what they decide "

Boomer added " The humans on your basestars need to transported off before the mission starts " she looked at Lee " Where can we put them? "

Lee looked at Kara " I think the Aurora would be best for now " Kara nodded her agreement.

Eliza remembered Sam " Sam wants his girlfriend with him and there are four more resistance men with her "

Kara glanced at Lee " I think the Commander would allow them to come here "

Eliza nodded " Sam explained the basics to them already and they agreed to follow him "

Lee looked at Showboat " We will pick up the resistance and it will give Showboat a chance to see a basestar up close "

Showboat smirked " Sounds good and I think Helo was right we need to mark the friendly raiders somehow "

Kara shrugged " Why it's not like we will have time to wait and make sure during a battle, we will be taking a risk of being killed if we do? "

Caprica had to agree " Starbuck's right, they will just have to risk it. Although I will have us all looped in on a separate frequency that could help "

Boomer leaned over the table " I say go with this plan and we only save that one basestar and check out the hub " she looked at Caprica " If you can't get the fours we blow up the rest "

Eliza didn't like it, but after Caprica nodded in agreement she did also.

Lee let out a deep breath " Kara could you and Boomer explain it to the Commander while we four move the survivors? "

Kara grabbed his hand " Okay, but after that I am going to see Willow "

Showboat coughed " Could I speak to Starbuck and Caprica alone? "

They all nodded except Lee " What's going on Captain Case? " he demanded

Kara chuckled " Watch out Marcie he is using his CAG voice "

Showboat rolled her eyes " It's nothing your wife can't tell you about later Captain Adama "

Kara laughed " Go get the transports ready Lee, I'll see you later "

Boomer helped " Come on Apollo I'll walk with you I want to see the chief anyway "

Outside Lee walked with Eliza and Boomer " What do you think they are doing Boomer? "

Boomer placed a hand on his shoulder " They didn't frakking tell me Captain and I can't read minds "

He pulled his shoulder away from her " Frak you Boomer "

Eliza laughed out loud " I thought only Starbuck could rattle you, but it seems I was wrong "

Lee stopped and looked at them both " I'll frakking walk by myself " he took off at a faster pace.

Their laughter followed him.

Back in the war Room the three women stood.

Kara had something to say first " Caprica I agree with Boomer, we can't stand to lose our pilots. That being said we will try, but at the first sign our pilots get in trouble we will blow the frak out of them "

Caprica sighed " I am only concerned about the fours because they are the doctors and scientists and I thought we would need them later "

Kara looked at her " Noted "

Showboat cleared her throat and they turned to look at her " First Caprica hello we weren't introduced earlier " she paused and glanced at Kara " I went to the temple before the meeting and Apollo told me some things Caprica needs to know "

Kara and Caprica leaned against the table while Showboat paced before coming to stand before them with her arms behind her back " I am Apollo's guide just as Willow is for Kara "

Caprica gasped " Why did it take you so long to come forward? "

Kara answered " She jumped away from the Pegagus on Apollo's orders, but you can't mention her connection to Lee or where she came from to anyone "

Showboat shut her eyes a second " I have something else to tell you and it may not go over well with the others " Caprica nodded and Kara was intrigued about what she was going to say " When Kara leads us to our new planet the cylons will age and die just like humans do, but there is an upside the female cylons can get pregnant and have children "

Kara and Caprica both gasped and stood up straight " What does that mean Marcie? "

Marcie saw Caprica smiling " Aurora will change their genetic makeup so they will be humans. " she looked at Caprica " How do you think they will feel about it Caprica? "

Caprica " I know the eights will be happy about it, because of Athena. Most of the sixes should agree with it "

Kara smirked " What about you? "

Caprica grinned " I love it "

Showboat spoke up " The catch is you can't tell anyone til after the mission. There is one other thing, I will do whatever I have to in order to protect Lee even if you and Eliza don't like it, understood "

Caprica nodded " Do what you have to and I'll handle the fallout "

Kara hugged Marcie " You bring my husband back alive, I don't give a frak what you have to do "

Marcie chuckled and pulled back " That's my job Kara. Now I am ready to see a basestar, but I would like to meet Willow before the mission if you can wait "

Kara started walking " Let's get to the hanger deck and get these transports over so we can go. It will be a quick trip because we have to brief all of the pilots, yours and Eliza's also Caprica "

When they made it there Lee was standing with Mark and Racetrack.

Then he saw Kara and went to her " What happened Kara? "

Kara gave him a quick kiss " It can wait, I'll tell you about it later, why is Mark still here? "

Lee looked back at them " Racetrack and Mark are taking the survivors to the Aurora, I thought we might need a friendly face to take them there "

Kara looked at Caprica " You need to go first and make sure they are ready for transport "

Caprica was still smiling " My sisters got them ready, but I'll go now " she looked at Lee " See you later Apollo "

Lee looked at Kara when she left " Why the frak is she smiling like that? "

Kara put her hand on his chest and pushed hi slightly " I'll tell you later, now go "

Showboat grabbed his arm " Let's go Captain I have other things to do later "

Lee rolled his eyes at both of them " Fine "

Kara watched them all leave and stepped back to turn and tripped over a toolbox falling to the deck and hitting her head hard enough to pass out.

Sam and Conner ran over and waited on medical to get to her. The medics were unable to wake her and used a stretcher to take her to sickbay.

Cottle checked her over, but was unable to wake her even though she seemed fine otherwise.

When the Commander arrived screaming for an explanation, Cottle could only guess that she was in a coma or a deep sleep like Roslin.

Boomer arrived right behind the Commander then Cottle had a hysterical cylon to deal with.

Cottle exclaimed " I don't know what's going on. I will run more tests on her. Where is Apollo? "

Athena ran in next just as upset. Boomer explained it to her. " Dr. Cottle if it's okay with you can I bring Simon over here to help? "

Cottle threw up his hands " Why not, now get out of my sickbay. I will let you all know if anything changes "

When they walked out Sam was standing there " Sam could you wait for my son on the flight deck and bring him here? I don't need a bunch of people accosting him when he arrives "

Sam muttered " She tripped over a toolbox. I swear it wasn't there before "

Adama ordered " Just go, I am waiting here "

A. N. The war is coming up next. I'm not really sure what happened to Kara. It could be several things.
