Prologue

I get led into the dark hallways of the palace. My mind's racing on how to escape this torture. I mean of all the girls in Thebes why do I a demigod, have to be an offering to the Minotaur?? Oh right, because I'm not the mother of an important goddess.

This last day of my life happened so quickly. I got up early, slipped on the black threadbare dress, with gold trimming, my best one. I grabbed a survival pack that contained of, nectar, ambrosia, a journal, with some pencils, a brush, a mat, a pillow, and a sheet to sleep on. I put it in a black sheet and tie it with some rope. I tie it around my back, and go down to eat breakfast. My father looks at me sadly, and I just scowl. I hang out with my friends one last time, and before I leave I grab my rock and dagger. My only way to protect myself.

I get led down to the labyrinth with some other peasant girls, who look like they're about to cry. Well, unlike them I have a plan. When we get down to the first fork in the labyrinth, I break from the guards grip and run. I ignore their shouts and run till my legs give out. I look back, and see that the guards are gone, I smile to myself. I take out my journal and a pencil. I write:

June 26th, 1032 A.D.

I'm on my own now. My name is Dana, and I'm a daughter of Eris, goddess of strife and discord. I have black hair, and red eyes. I speak the language of Greek, and live in Thebes. The gods are Zeus, Hera, Athena, Artemis, Ares, Poseidon, Hades, Aphrodite, Apollo, Hephaestus, Demeter, Persephone, and Eris. I hope to survive here, without losing my insanity. You are my only companion now journal.

-Dana

I shut the journal, stuff it in my pack, and descend down the labyrinth, to the next hall.
