Devastation
Civilization fell with a crash,
Crushed by stellar feet.
The warring nations fought no more,
Both experienced defeat.
...
Some had thought they'd never yield,
Yet fate had forced their hand.
The meteors brought devastation,
To both the sea and land.
...
Truly, the end had come,
Though not by hand of Man.
Some thought this a rare event,
Others of a divine plan.
...
Machines and weapons left abandoned,
As they succumbed to rust.
While the works of humankind,
All succumbed to dust.
...
Yet despite the devastation,
Some rose from the ashes.
But old hatreds never die,
And thus returned to clashes.
