A.N: I know I know….I should be uploading Checkmate. But now…I felt like writing a small story off the side. In the middle of the night. This is just a teaser for what is to come. I hope you guys enjoy this little taste.

Disclaimer: Vampire Knights is not owned by me. I sure love writing AU fics though.

"Exactly…what have you done?"

Kaname cradled his pounding head into his palms, feeling his eye sockets burn with tears. He didn't mean to. It wasn't his fault at all was it? He was lonely and needed a friend to play with. Everybody needs somebody don't they? Just why…why did it go so wrong with him?

"Just how many more lives will he take?" Juuri clutched at her husbands hands. Haruka sighed, letting the guilt of his son sink in further, and directed his attention to his wife's fearful eyes.

"As much as he needs to survive. I'm willing to be this will go on forever unless someone finds a way to destroy this…this thing."

" He isn't a THING FATHER!" Kaname finally allowed his ten year old sob-laced voice erupt the room. " He is my friend! And I have no regrets in making him so!"

" Kaname! How dare you talk back to your father like that! KANAME!"

Before the mother could stop her son, he bolted out of the living room and onto the street. He was going to find him. His lost beloved doll.

Hair like moonlight strung silk. Skin as a white as the pearls on his mother's necklace. And of course those haunting beautiful eyes. Sometimes they can be a soft lilac violet, and other times, they can resemble a fiery ember glowing in the dark. He had named him Zero because it represented the emptiness in his heart. But now, that emptiness weighs a heavy load on his chest.

Just how did it turn out like this?

A/N: And please stay tuned! I really don't think there has been a story like this in the VK fandom. Well not that I have seen of it. And this is the shortest thing I've ever uploaded onto .
