A short one shot I made last night, set sometime in the summer between TBotL and TLO. Rate and Review :)
DISCLAMIER: I DON'T OWN THE LYRICS, OR THE CHARACTERS IN PJO.
"Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know? When will my reflection show who I am inside? "
She stormed into the girl's bathroom and leaned on one of the sinks. Finally looking up, a girl's reflection caught her eye. She was blonde, tan and average height. The piercing grey eyes set in the middle of her heart-shaped face were sad. She wasn't pretty, attractive or desirable in any way. All Annabeth Chase did was read books, train at camp and carry a secret crush on the sea-green eyed son of Poseidon.
That sent her thoughts spinning out of control. What did that black haired boy think of her? That she was just a bookworm daughter of Athena, his father's worst enemy, or did his thoughts go deeper? Could he see past her hard exterior into the soft interior that was her true being? Most boys couldn't. Around the age that they were, all boys' saw was a girl's body. Yah, she was slim and strong, but she didn't show it off.
However, Percy Jackson wasn't 'most boys'. Sure he likes basketball and other sports but Annabeth had seen his room. His walls weren't covered in those beach babes with their barely there bikinis. Percy's walls were blue, his favorite color, and had band posters all over the place such as Blink-182, Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy and Jimmy Eat World all over the place lined with pictures of him and his friends. Percy was socially awkward and to her knowledge, he had never had a girlfriend.
Was he saving himself for someone? This grey-eyed girl couldn't help but hope to be the one he thought about during those boring school days and before he fell asleep at night. She couldn't help but hope that he could see through the stony face in the mirror and realize that she was completely falling for him.
