30: This is My Family

Two years later

Alissa laughed as Kid ran after her, splashing her with water from the Ocean. Mitsuki and Viktor buried Patty in the sand. Liz, Ryan, Soul, and Alice were playing Volleyball. Alec, Tsubaki, Maka and Connor were making food. Alec was doting on Tsubaki, who was showing a small baby bump. She'd smile at Alec, and he'd look at her lovingly, before being distraced by Black Star or Ryan. Black Star was off somewhere, standing on top of a rock, shouting about his greatness, and Yuri was bugging Hiro, who had a goofy grin on his face.

This is my family.

Alissa and Kid were watching Mitsuki and Viktor as Patty and Black Star gave them sparklers. Soul was running after Alice, who had stolen his headband from him again. Ryan was giving Liz a piggyback ride back to the group, after the two had gone for a walk. Maka and Connor were talking about possibly moving out of the apartment and letting Soul and Alice live there alone. Alec was hugging Tsubaki, who was watching the fireworks go off. Yuri was dragging Hiro to the nearby snack shack, to havfe him try some sort of rice cake.

They might be from different places, and from different backgrounds.

Alice covered her mouth with her hands, tears in her eyes as she looked at Soul. He was on his knee, which was sinking into the sand, holding a ring out to her. She nodded yes and as soon as Soul stood, she tackled him to the ground and kissed him.

They might even be a little bit...strange.

Patty and Black Star stomped around on the beach; Mitsuki on Patty's shoulders, Viktor on Black Star's. They were pretending to be dinosaurs; roaring and screeching as they pretended to attack each other.

They may be complete opposites.

Hiro and Yuri were arguing about the snack Yuri made him try. Yuri was telling Hiro that he should at least try it, while Hiro was telling Yuri that if he has to try it, then she has to try something that he wants her to try. They kept arguing, until Liz groaned and her and Ryan shoved them towards each other, causing their lips to collide.

They might even be fools in love.

Kid picked Alissa up into his arms, and carried her towards the ocean, despite her protests. He threw her into the water and she screeched at him, pulling him under with her. When they surfaced again, Kid held Alissa's face in his hands and planted a kiss on her lips. Alec and Tsubaki were talking about possible names for their daughter. Maka and Connor were laying on a blanket, holding hands, and staring at the sky.

But at the end of the day, they are all my family. I wouldn't trade them in for anything in the world.

I love them dearly, and I will be there for them, as long as my days on this planet last me.
