"Hey Specter," Beast Boy inquired, confused at the weird music coming from a pair of headphones on the halfa's head, "What're you listening to?" When she didn't immediately respond, apparently ignoring him, the emerald changeling turned into a falcon and flew over her head, taking the headphones with him.

"Hey," Dani shouted, "I was listening to that!" The ghost girl immediately gave chase, trying to catch the joker, only to see a green cheetah running around a corner when she exited the living room. "Beast Boy!"

Robin shook his head from his seat on the couch, newspaper in hand. "You'd think he would have learned after the last time he pulled something like that on her," the Boy Wonder stated in exasperation as he looked for an high profile items coming into town, his eyebrow raising at the Clock of Eternity coming to the Jump City Museum in two months. "I don't even want to know how she got that much lard in his room without him noticing."

"I do! His shriek was hilarious, dawg," Cyborg called out from the kitchen, stirring sauce in a pot while wearing a chef's hat. He let out a satisfied sigh after taking a deep breath of the steam coming from his cooking. "I didn't think she was a fan of that band though, it's pretty fringe."

"You actually heard it," Robin asked, briefly putting the newspaper down to give the cybernetic teen his full attention.

"Yeah Robbie," Cyborg shrugged nonchalantly, "I can pick up all kinds of wireless and radio signals. I actually had to modify some of the components the night we came together to make it so I could formshift my arms into sonic cannons."

"Huh, I didn't know that," Robin replied, rubbing his chin in thought, "So, what was she listening to?"

"A punk trance band called The Kruncheez," the titanium titan answered as he put some lasagna noodles in a pot of boiling water, "Their CDs are nowhere near as good as their concerts, but still pretty good."

"I don't think I've ever heard of them," the Boy Wonder stated thoughfully, "Punk trance seems like an odd mix though. How did they manage that?"

"Electronic subliminals in the more traditional punk genre," Cyborg explained, "Helped that the former frontman took some inspiration from The Maestro when making their custom sound system so the listener could actually see what was going on in the song. Pretty ingenious actually, but it doesn't really translate over to their albums very well."

"I might have to look into them sometime," Robin declared as he went back to his newspaper. He then donned a thoughtful look. "I wonder what Specter will do to him this time?"

"I don't know dawg," the mechanical teen responded, a grin starting to split his face.

"But I can't wait to see what she comes up with this time!"

"Azerath Metrion Zinthos."

Raven was meditating on the roof, trying to reach a better emotional balance after the previous night. While she was thankful for the opportunity to get a closer friendship with Beast Boy and Cyborg after the encounter with Doctor Light, she still felt like she needed better control over her powers.

"Azerath Metrion Zinthos."

The dark titan heard the door to the roof access open and close behind her, but decided to ignore it in favor of her meditation. Sometimes other members of the team liked to come up here to enjoy the fresh air, or even to train outside the gym. She briefly wondered when Cyborg was going to build the obstacle course that he had mentioned a few days ago, but quickly put it out of her mind.

"Azerath Metrion Zinthos."

"Friend Raven?"

'Of course. Right when I was starting to feel some progress.'

"What is it, Starfire," Raven inquired, trying to keep her mild irritation out of her voice.

The Tamaranean teen floated in front of her friend, looking at the violet hair teen curiously. "I was wondering if you would like to join me on a trip to the mall of shopping?"

"Starfire," Raven groaned, "Why don't you ask Specter; I'm kind of busy right now."

"We have not spent much time with one another recently and I wanted to correct this," Starfire replied. A green falcon with a pair of headphones held in its talons chose that moment to fly up over the roof from the side of the tower and dart over to the other side before descending again, passing in between the two suprised girls.

Dani quickly followed after the bird, in apparent hot pursuit. "BEAST BOY," the halfa yelled, "GET BACK HERE!" She quickly disappeared over the side of the roof, much like the emerald shapeshifter had before her. Raven groaned in exasperation at the antics of the two youngest members of the team.

"Also, it appears as though she is currently busy chasing Beast Boy for stealing her head mounted music player," Starfire finished lamely.

'Why me?' Raven whined mentally as she tried to find another way to deflect the insistent redhead.

A metallic man with a green flaming mohawk walked out of the darkness into a poorly lit room with gears turning everywhere. On the opposite side of the room was a well muscled man with wearing tactical body armor and a mask with copper on one side while the other was black, his arms crossed behind his back. A quick glance around the room revealed that they were the only occupants. "I'm surprised that your runt isn't here, Deathstroke."

"She's currently out acquiring some tech for me," the masked man responded nonchalantly, with a barely perceptible shrug of his shoulders. "Every apprentice needs to be tested every once in a while. And, please, call me Slade."

"As you wish, Slade," Skulker stated, a smirk playing on his mechanical lips, "I was merely acknowledging your accomplishments as a hunter of men. You called for me?"

"Indeed," Slade drawled, nodding his head slightly in acceptance of the compliment from the greatest hunter in the Ghost Zone. He stepped onto the gears, allowing them to take him across the room to his employee. "It has come to my attention that an individual is about to make an attempt on the Teen Titans. I want you to observe the way he pulls their strings and gain greater first-hand knowledge on their capabilities."

The ghost hunter narrowed his eyes, irritation flashing in their jade depths. "Are you questioning my ability to hunt a bunch of whelps?"

"On the contrary," Slade countered, stepping off the gears in front of the hunter, only barely having to lift his head to meet the ghost's gaze. "I'm merely advising you of an opportunity to watch your prey, learn what they are capable of, and make your hunt more enjoyable as you watch the desperation in their eyes." The assassin hid his amusement as the smirk returned to the hunter's face.

"The whelp's clone may not hold much interest to me, but the rest of them could make very good prey," Skulker sneered as he crossed his arms, "Especially the Tamaranean and the shapeshifter."

"I can understand Beast Boy," the masked villain stated, curiosity tinging his voice as an eyebrow lifted under his mask, "But why the alien girl?" Skulker's responding snort only drew more curiosity from Slade.

"It may not happen often, but extra-terrestrial species do occassionally make their way into the Ghost Zone," Skulker answered as he turned to walk away, "The most famous were a trio that helped to overthrow Pariah Dark. I relish the thought of seeing what one of their descendents is capable of." With that, the ghost hunter returned to the darkness once again.

Slade stood their, digesting the powerful ghosts words. "Interesting." With his final piece said, he stepped back onto the gears to go deeper into his lair.

"Stupid chlorbag," Dani muttered under her breath, currently in her human form. She put her lab goggles on, briefly considering her options for getting even with Beast Boy before putting those thoughts out of her head. She was wearing a full body lab outfit, almost identical to the one's that Danny's mom used to wear save for it being violet in color. "You ready over there Cy?"

"I'm always ready, Ghost Girl," the titanium titan replied boisterously from next to the hole carved in the wall of Dani's lab. He was holding onto the power cables fot the final test of the T-Ghost Portal. "I still can't believe how hard it was to modify the design for this thing. I mean, seriously, who puts the on/off switch on the inside of a transdimensional portal!"

"The Fenton's were geniuses, Cy," Dani commented as she walked up to the portal, giving the ecto-filtrator a final check. "Jack definitely crossed the line to insane many times, though."

"Everything's good to go, dawg," Cyborg asked, chuckling at the halfa's comment. All things considered, he couldn't exactly argue with the younger girl, but he still had to marvel at what the ghost hunters had accomplished. 'If only they had been working with my dad on his experiment,' the cybernetic teen thought to himself, letting melancholy color his thoughts, 'Maybe I wouldn't be like this. Can't change the past, but I can't help wonderin' what could have been.'

"Then let's fire her up," the halfa declared, a serious frown crossing her face. Cyborg plugged in the pwer cables and turned to the computer console beside him even as the lights in the room flickered. "Is the power draw looking good?"

"It's running a bit high, even without turning the portal on," Cy returned, staring intently at the various gauges, "But we already considered that. Once everything's stable, the power draw should drop. Everything else looks normal over here; ready to turn her on?"

"Should I be scared that your coming on to the portal already Cy," Dani retorted, earning a startled laugh from her lab assistant of the day even as she reached up to the on button. "Powering up the T-Ghost Portal, now!" She pressed the button and both teens watched as electricity crackled throughout the device. After a few moments, the electricity turned green as a vortex started to appear. Both teens held their breath as, with a flash everything changed. The molecules within the portal got rearranged into a glowing green spiral, even as the two watched. "How are the power levels looking now, Cy?"

"They're good," Cyborg replied quietly before a grin stretched his lips, "Power draw is dropping down to manageable levels. Everything's lookin' good, dawg! Do you wanna test it out with the T-Probe?"

"Yeah," Dani replied as she grabbed the controls for the drone, "I'd prefer testing it like this first, just to be on the safe side."

"I don't blame ya," Cyborg responded as he went to another console, turning on the camera for the drone. "I'm ready when you are."

"Let's see what we've got here," the halfa declared thoughtfully as she guided the drone into the portal. Cyborg kept an eye on the video feed. He was briefly worried when the camera showed nothing but static, but it quickly cleared to show a vast green void, not unlike looking into space from the Hubble Telescope, with various objects and landmasses able to be seen in the distance. The mechanical teen watched as the drone was turned towards their portal briefly, amazed that he could see the distorted image of the halfa on the other side of the portal, before the drone was parked on the side of the vortex, looking out into the Ghost Zone. "Switching the drone to beacon mode, now."

There was movement on the screen as the camera's alignment was changed due to the transition. Cyborg looked at his arm and brought up his communicator, turning it to the frequency of their new beacon. He smiled as the image on his arm was the same as what was on the computer display. "Alright, dawg! We did it!"

"I couldn't have done it without you, Cy," Dani smiled as she took the hood off her lab suit. She reached over to another button and activated the blast doors so that nothing could get through the new portal. She hugged Cyborg, giddy with excitement, before realizing what she was doing. She drew back from the hug and couughed into her fist, trying to hide a blush, not even realizing that the mechanical teen was doing the same.

Before the scene could get any more awkward, an alarm went off. Both teens quickly looked at their communicators, turning them to the team channel, only to see the Boy Wonder's face on the screens. "Titans, there's been a break-in at the Jump City Federal Reserve. Titans, GO!"

"At least we got the portal up and running," Cyborg commented as he saw the white rings turn Dani into Specter from the corner of his eye. "Think I could get a lift? I've got to see what could shake Robbie up so bad." He immediately thought twice about his request when he saw the devious smile on the halfa's face.

The two were the first to make it to the bank robbery, and nobody on the team asked why they heard a girlish scream echo throughout Jump City.

Beast Boy and Robin already knew.
