Kagome stared down at the layout before her. It was horrible...blood was everywhere, and the bodies of her friends laid strewn across the battleground below. "Why did so much blood spill...for such a small...stone." Her hand wrapped around the jewel hanging from her neck, and she closed her eyes. Nothing new, these images that played in her head were all memories, merely being replayed as nightmares that seemed to not want to let her be. It wasn't even that they were dead, they'd just gone through hell trying to destroy Naraku, and once they had succeeded...well, it should have been obvious that they would just stop and lay down for a bit, but Kagome hadn't realized that this scene would be the last one she'd see of her friends. She had pulled together the rest of the jewel while the others took a small breather...she had asked if InuYasha had wanted the jewel, and he turned it down, saying he was fine the way he was. Being that there were still lives destroyed, Kagome made the only wish that she could think to make...none...

Because she too had nothing to wish for, and to wish for her eyesight back, would be devastatingly bad. She knew better, but the thought had definitely crossed her mind.

Still, looking over the tired and worn out figures of her friends, she wondered how they were now, and how long it would take for such images to fade from her memory. If she would...perhaps...forget what her friends looked like too. She felt herself forgetting little things, or things she took for granted. The way the sun looked, or light in general, was the biggest one. She couldn't quite recall how it lit up the grass and trees around her, and those were another thing on her slowly forgetting list. She could still see energies, and yes, while every living thing had its own energy, it was still difficult to remember their colors and all the small details that came with them.

"...InuYasha...would probably tell me that I complain too much...that I'm just acting like some weak human wench. He'd say that I'm not some damsel in distress, so I need to shut up and get my act together." Kagome laughed, as everything slowly started to return back to black, darkness started to take her over once more where light used to be what beckoned her awake. Now, she wasn't always completely sure when or if she was awake or asleep. With her eyes always closed, and darkness constantly following her, the two were often times easy to mistake for one another.

Xellos watched the small girl begin stirring in his arms. Somehow, while he had been ready to leave late the night before, Kagome had come to find his hand and keep by his side. He couldn't bring himself to pull away, even if it would have been a piece of cake to just phase out of her grip, he just didn't want to. So now, he was listening to the soft breathing of the young teen turned child. He knew she would be waking up soon, just as he made had that thought, she moaned and stretched out her arms, trying to find solidity, her hands moved to grasp the ground, only...

"Ah!"

Xellos smiled, placing a hand on her shoulder to steady her as she almost lost her balance and fell from the tree he had been in. "Good morning Kagome!" He said cheerily, though he and Kagome were currently the only ones awake at the moment, he spoke clearly and concise.

"Xellos!" Kagome maneuvered herself in his arms as she turned towards him, she still couldn't see, but she could feel. Wondering curiously, she put her hand out and came in contact with something solid, feeling the fabric beneath her fingers, she summed it up to be his chest and walked her fingers up to his neck.

"Oh dear, whatever are you doing?" he asked, though he was honestly curious. This wasn't something he was accustomed to.

"I want to know...what you look like..." her fingers paused at his cheek, bringing her other hand to his other cheek, she continued to feel, memorizing the shape, his ears, and running her fingers over his eyes which she found to be closed. Her fingers brushed against his hair, and she had felt his bangs, putting together the type of hair style he had with ease she asked, "Xellos?"

"Yes, Kagome?"

"What color is your hair?"

"Ah...my hair?" he smiled, "purple...dark purple..."

"And your eyes?"

"They too...are purple."

"...can I ask one more question, Xellos?"

Xellos looked at the girl questioningly but nodded, then mentally hitting himself when he realized she couldn't see him nod, he answered, "go ahead."

"The other day, Zelgadis said you were a monster...and what I said then, stands now...however, I was wondering..." She pushed her energy to her hands and felt him, his aura...energy and his body in general. It was all so strange. "The first time I met you, I felt how strange your aura was, your energy wasn't normal by any means, but my question is...what makes you a monster, because you sound human, and you feel human...you even seem to act human...and while I know and understand that demons can often times have humanoid bodies, you don't feel like a demon either..."

"Mazoku...that is what I am. I am of the monster race, and one of the strongest generals in the Astral Plane...to answer your first question...how we eat. I am replenished when I feed off of the negative energies and emotions given away by humans so freely and openly, unlike humans who eat animals and vegetables to sustain life. I am also capable of living forever if no one tries to kill me, I can't stop being killed, but I'll never just grow old and die. Continuing, my body is of a different make...not made with blood, bones or muscle...however...the rest...is a secret. I will tell you this though, I am not like the demons you might know...I am a different type of demon, made of chaos and power, I am what comes from the darkness and collects on nightmares."

Kagome laughed a bit at that. He sounded serious, sure, but his voice just made him sound adorable.

"Hey! If the two of you are up, then let's go!"

Xellos glanced down to see Lina grinning at him, "I do believe, Kagome...that it is time for your first lesson. ...shall we?"

Kagome nodded, "yeah!"

"We will do this while Goury and...Sylphiel are out getting supplies."

Kagome took note in the pause in her Sensei's voice, and reached her aura out, soothingly it wrapped around Lina's form and she heard the girl sigh.

"I'm okay, Kagome...I'm not some weak kid who is going to cry over something so menial."

Kagome smiled, she really wished she could see, she liked the way Lina sounded, and if she were to guess or just use her imagination, she could see the girl with passionate eyes, maybe she had short hair like Xellos that fell above her shoulders but was wavy, maybe it was black like hers, or red like Shippou's...or maybe she had really long hair...and dark eyes. She was after all, a sorceress who used Black Magic, why not have eyes reflecting the magic users' glorious energy. Kagome moved into reach of the girl and reached out.

"Huh?"

"I believe...she wishes to get an idea of how you look. She...did the same to me...before you woke up." Xellos said while watching Lina kneel before the girl. He knew Lina wasn't aware yet that she was actually seventeen years old, and he himself found it a bit peculiar, but watching Lina be so gentle with the girl who was technically older than Lina by a year, was kind of funny. He couldn't stop the lighthearted laugh, well, lighthearted if he actually had a heart.

"Miss. Lina...you have really long hair..." Kagome said gently, touch the soft locks as they fell between her fingers. "Longer than mine for sure." She laughed, "And here I thought mine was long, tripping on it all the time and such...what color is your hair Miss. Lina?"

"Oh...uh, red I guess."

"No, no...I must intervene, Miss. Lina's hair isn't just any shade of red, Kagome. It's like a burning flame, fire encased in chaos...the color is more of a burning sunset, orange and red blending furiously together, and her eyes burn a magnificent shade of scarlet, which only darkens when angered, or sparkles when excited...or so is my opinion."

"..." Lina blushed, "...it's just red..."

Kagome smiled, "you sound beautiful...Miss. Lina."

Shaking her head furiously, Lina stood up and turned away from both Xellos and Kagome, "Either we start training now or never...your choice."

Kagome grinned, "I'm ready when you are, Miss. Lina!"

"Alright, so listen carefully, I can't teach you in the normal method, so a memory charm will have to do. It's simple, and it won't hurt you, all you have to do is stand still."

"The spell is designed to give or take memories, so if I am correct, Miss. Lina plans on giving you some memories of basic spells that she learned, I myself will be limited to what I can teach you, though, there may be other ways you can learn."

"Miss. Lina, are you sure this is a good idea. It seems awfully dangerous...I mean, she can't see...what if she fires an Elmekia Flare at you or Goury...or someone else in our group...on accident of course."

Lina laughed at the idea before turning to Amelia, "Then I would advise whoever the attack is moving towards, to get out of the way." Her attention back on Kagome, she placed to fingers to Kagome's forehead and concentrated on her own memories before pushing those memories into Kagome's own mind. "We won't be starting on the Elmekia anything though, we will start...with Levitation."

"I want to learn Fireball!" Kagome cried out, though accepted the memories and watched in her head as a man she had never seen before used it. "...who is that?"

"Well, I can't very well see myself preforming moves like that, so I have to take my memories of others using the spells and attacks and show you them, that is Zel that you are looking at."

"...Zel?" Kagome blushed, despite the way he looked, she found him to be alluring in some ways. He was actually...handsome. "...so...my hands go..." she raised them up.

"Now wait a second, its more than just moving your hands up then down and shouting out Levitation. That's the outside, you also need to be able to do the necessary things on the inside."

"Which is...?"

"Mediate...you need to mediate all of your energy. Since this is Air type Shamanism, you will focus your energy to your fourth Gate, the fourth gate of your Chakra's is the gate of Touching, Grasping, Holding...that which can be seen blocks you from what you must see...pushing it gently, if you push too hard, you can cause yourself internal trauma."

"...stops me from seeing...what I must see?" Kagome frowned, 'sounds oddly familiar.' Kagome shook her head and sighed, doing as she was told, meditation was simple to her, she'd done it many times in the past, once she was done, she felt a light air around her and brought her hands up before pushing them down and guiding the energy down through her core, "LEVITATION~!"

"Oh wonderful, good job Kagome!" Amelia cried out.

"She's actually off the ground, not bad."

Kagome flushed at the sound of Zelgadis, losing her concentration and falling out of the air, she blushed even harder when Lina started yelling and asking what had happened. "I...uh...lost my focus." She looked down, then raising her hand, she repeated her earlier actions, only this time, she gathered more of her energy, and pushed herself higher. "LEVITATION~!"

"GREAT!" Lina was next to her in a mere couple of seconds, taking her hand, she brought them up to her shoulders, "now keep yourself up without keeping your hands down to hold you in the air. Focus, but multitask."

Kagome nodded, and after about ten minutes of getting used to the idea of being in the air, she started to float around, moving all over the place as if she were a bird. "Miss. Lina, I'm flying!"

"Yeah...for the most part, you are."

"Can I learn the Fireball now?"

"WHAT!?" Lina laughed, "Damn kid, you are going to drain yourself, but if it's the Fireball you want, then it's the Fireball you'll get!"

"Lina, you can't be serious." Zelgadis stepped over to the red head who landed back on the ground.

"Well, Zelgadis...that was the deal." Xellos said as he too drifted to his feet from the tree he'd moments ago been sitting in. "If you wish to tell Kagome no, then by all means, but something tells me that she may not be too keen on the idea of negotiation." Xellos laughed.

"Be quite you annoying priest."

"Niceness," Kagome said as she landed beside Lina, "where has all the niceness gone?"

Lina laughed, "hold still, and don't use this one until I explain the attack to you. This one, you will see Amelia demonstrating the Fireball...maybe you'll concentrate a bit easier?" Lina teased.

Kagome blushed and turned away, she didn't need to see Lina's face, she was sure she had an idea of the look she was giving her. "It doesn't matter to me!"

Two fingers were placed on her forehead, and once more, she had memories being pushed into her head, this one of a young girl with a similar hair style to that of Zelgadis, only dark violet in color instead of light blue like his. "Wow...but yours is more...malicious...I think."

Lina gave a sheepish laugh, "I think that's just me...Kagome."

"Yes, that is most definitely just Miss. Lina." Xellos smiled, though he opened his eyes and watched Kagome move her hands about in a similar manner as Lina, Amelia and Zelgadis did when using the attack.

"Source of all power,"

Lina frowned as she listened to Kagome.

"...light which burns beyond crimson, let thy power gather in my hand. FIREBALL~!"
