title: drawing lines to watch them fall

fandom: pretty little liars (the show)

pairing: aria & ezra

summary: I gave in to my emotions.

i watched both episodes today & it's addicting. i'm rooting for this couple, spencer & her sister's boyfriend, and emily & that girl who's name i can't remember. i'm predicting now that hanna's boyfriend is gay.

Aria doesn't want to be her father.

She knows the circumstances are completely different, but it feels the same, and Aria doesn't like lies, doesn't like dishonesty. That's how they got into this mess in the first place, right? That's why Allison's dead (if Allison's dead.)

Aria doesn't want to be her father.

(Sometimes Aria doesn't want to be herself.)

Seeing Ezra at the movies is when it finally starts to sink in.

She asked for the class transfer, and after that class transfer was denied, Aria just accepted the fact that this year was going to suck. But she was going to handle it. She was going to stay away and keep herself in check and never, never look into Ezra's - Mr. Fitz, she means, Mr. Fitz - eyes. She would be okay. She could do it.

Seeing Ezra at the movies is when Aria accepts that she just can't.

She barely knows him, but her whole life is going to crumble around her want for him, because she can't control it.

Aria doesn't mind walking in the rain.

She's cold and sopping wet, but she doesn't mind because it gives her an excuse to cry and no one will notice. Aria can cry and no one will ask why. There are just too many reasons, and she can't tell anyone about any of them.

She hears the car before she sees it, but she doesn't turn to look because she already knows who it is. She catches his eyes through the window and rain as he slows, and then he keeps going and she thinks that he's not going to stop.

He does, though. He stops, and Aria doesn't.

"I gave in to my emotions."

Aria is her father.
