A/N: Oh how I love these two 3 I wanted to portray their relationship as loving & sweet, after seeing so many fics where they're unhappy together/in an arranged marriage/etc...

Disclaimer: I obviously do not own Harry Potter because if I did it would just be called The Lucius and Narcissa Show c:

The Malfoy Manor was dark, with the exception of the flame Narcissa had lit in the fireplace. It had been more than two weeks since Lucius had last returned to her. He had sworn to his wife that he would be back within the month, and she had promised to be there waiting for him. It was the least she could do, she thought, after he'd been away for so long, and Narcissa hated thinking of another night without her husband.

Glass of wine in hand, and wand currently forgotten on the small table nearby, Narcissa sat before the fire in one of the several black leather chairs that decorated the spacious room. Here, she was sure she would see him no matter how he arrived home. She sighed as she set down the now empty glass and gazed towards the fireplace. Would this simply be another night of time wasted...?

Soon, the familiar sound of apparition came from just outside the manor. Shortly after, quiet footsteps and the tap of a cane against the hardwood floors followed. "...?" The crackling flames had attracted the attention of Lucius Malfoy, who had drawn his wand to extinguish them, when he was quite surprised to find Narcissa waiting for him.

"Welcome home, Lucius," she said quietly.

"Narcissa...? You're still up at this hour...?" he asked, finding it difficult to speak casually with her in such an unexpected situation.

"Of course I am. I had to be here to see you, after all."

"You didn't have to do any such thing... Though I must say, I appreciate that you did." He gave a gentle smile and approached his beloved.

"Oh! By the way, I nearly forgot, is there anything I can get you? A glass of wine, or something to eat? I know you must be terribly tired, and-" She moved to stand up, but Lucius had stopped her.

"Cissy," he interrupted with a laugh, "how could I possibly think of any of that now, when I already have you right here in front of me...?"

She smiled at this display of affection. It had been far too long since she had last heard anything of the sort. Narcissa gently touched a hand to her husband's cheek, gazing adoringly at the man she loved. At this, he leaned closer to kiss her. Almost immediately, Lucius held her tightly in his arms, and her fingers quickly became entangled in his long white-blond hair.

"I love you, Lucius," she finally managed to whisper onto his lips. "I love you so, so much." Though this earned her another, longer kiss from him, she could already feel the tears welling in her eyes, try as she may to hold them in. His voice, his scent, his touch, his everything made her realize once more just how much she needed him with her.

"I love you too, Narcissa, I really do," he murmured, parting from her at last. It wasn't until he released her from his embrace that he noticed her tears. "Cissy...? Are you quite alright...?" Lucius inquired, concern in his voice.

"Oh, yes... I'm just so glad you're home again that I'm afraid I can't help it," she laughed. "It's rather embarrassing, especially now..."

"I understand," he told her softly, wiping away the tears from her face. "Just as I understand that I'm quite exhausted and you could do with some rest just as much as I." He held out a hand to her to help her stand, which she accepted gratefully. As she did so, he waved his wand in the direction of the fireplace, reducing the flame to mere embers and darkening the room.

"You know, I think it will be nice, finally falling asleep next to you again. That's something I've missed terribly," Narcissa admitted, leaning against him.

"I know, dear. And I'll still be holding you close when you awaken."
