A/N
Not sure why the Golden Cucoo would parody Twinkle Twinke to a wolf, even if said wolf helped his owner. Anyway, parodying the lullaby further, I decided to take the feather duster's arrogance even further. And, of course, remind everyone of the cuckoos' darker nature...
Update (29/11/12): Corrected typo.
Silence is Golden
Twinkle twinkle little cucoo,
I am gold, and not you-ou.
Neither of us can take to flight,
But only one can be seen at night.
…
When sun does rise your eggs are gone,
While I'm left to twitter on.
You squawk and scurry with the rest,
All knowing which bird is best.
…
I think it's time I did confide,
That I am fair Ordon's pride.
Visitors care not for hens,
When I can shine bright for them.
…
So while white things come out your arse,
And as you peck at worms in grass,
Know that I, the golden chook,
Am a king above you rooks.
…
So while I twinkle, not for you,
And farmers deal with cuckoo poo,
Remember what you've been told.
That the best bird here is the one that's gold.
Historian's Note
The following was found inscribed on a tree in Ordon Woods. A new verse had begun, but was never completed. That the villagers of Ordon saw a flight of angry cucoos scurrying out of the forest on the same day, and the Golden Cucoo covered in their droppings may well be related.
